How does any of what you say explain why suddenly,for no good reason ,lots of people decide to buy this morning?

It is very clear to me that just with a few buys (which true investors will also have latched onto and bought themselves) they were able to take the share price up to close on 150p ,only to be able to drop it back right down again to its present level by selling these shares back into the market.


Not a bad mornings work for these shorters! Perhaps a lesson to be learned here?


P S I expect the sell off to tail off now and not a lot will happen for the rest of the day!

teddy boy1. I think the price volatility with this share has more to do with its small free float & lingering uncertainties over short term profitability than anything else. Sure, they've recently announced new listings with Boots & Tesco, which SHOULD certainly boost sales & profit in due course. But short term, it remains to be seen whether they've overcome past stock supply issues. And don't forget, they've warned twice on profits so far this year. So presumably their next set of results will be in line with these lower profit figures. Otherwise, why warn on profits so recently? As I've long reiterated, I do think LTH's may do well out of IDP, providing they got in at a sensible price. For me, that price remains £1 or below, reflecting the risks which undoubtedly still remain.

Does anyone believe me now? I learned very early in my investment career that if a share suddenly gets bought in larger quantities then normal, for no good reason ,that there is no point in getting excited as the share price usually comes down again very quickly .

In my view this share is still being well and truly "worked" by the traders and there is nothing that we can do about it as they are not doing anything illegal.We shall just have to learn to live with it.!

I content my with the fact that even with all the goings on over the past few days, that the share price is still considerably higher than it was a week ago.

We will get there in the end but we will have to put up with lots of "interference" along the way.(that,s the price we pay for the privilege of owning a tightly held ,popular share!)

However,there is no denying that IDP is a first class company with a great future .Thats why I love it to bits!

Kemche Lol. Might be that simple. Teddy Bear might be all other deranged user names on here. All members of his Investment club, its a none existent one that occurs in his mind only. Teddy Bears Investment Club meetings have Mr Worry, Applegarth, Mr Kipper etc attending..Teddy is the Chair and this BB is his Forum.. My what a Thought..Lol

I can ensure you both that I have not sold, nor do I have any intention of selling my IDP shares!

A lot of my investment decisions nowadays are made on how shares "behave" I do not hold loads of different ones so they are not too difficult to monitor! Each share behaves differently depending on its popularity, how tightly held it is, what stage of development the company is at, what market it is in, etc.etc.

All I am trying to say(before every one gets too carried away)is this is not normal behaviour for this share ,considering that we have not had anything to prompt this mornings buying.

I could be wrong (I hope that I am!) as my "behavioural" theory is still in its infancy but I am learning more and more by studying daily buying and selling patterns.

We shall see , but rest assured ,I AM STILL IDP's NUMBER ONE FAN!
