The words 'Trading Update' are misleading as this is just more hot air.

Not a single word about financial performance during the 6 months so no one has a clue how the company has performed during the past 6 months or ongoing expectations for the full year.

Not mentioned....article focused on the bigger players

"We are most positive on the high-yielding trio of
Barratt Developments (BDEV), Bovis Homes (BVS)
and Taylor Wimpey (TW.) which are also trading
on relatively attractive price-to-net asset value
(NAV) ratios......."

Well done to anyone who bought at 50p - never thought it would get that low so I bought a bit early. Hopefully will get back to at least a rational price now.

With the aggressive annual % yield increases, i'd hazard an educated guess that this will come to pass rather sooner than later.spud

Spud - sure the 4.2% yield assists; but it is unnecessarily parsimonious when the dividend is covered more than 3 times.

The dividend here should be at least 3p/share - not a mere 2.2p.

The only stocks that seem to be moving much over the last week or so, are ones that are totally bombed out, or the ones that have market caps 10+ times their revenue while making losses that are twice their revenue - presumably that's just traders doing the chart thing or a load of money sloshing around amongst the real gamblers of this world.

How on earth do some of these businesses get such a large following ? Is it just a question of having sufficient buzz words and 'partnerships' ?

Been in and out of these quite successfully over the last year but held on to a few.
I read the recent IC update and although it was very positive I didn't add but today's announcement caught my attention.

Bought more today and very pleased to see that the ex-div date was the 27th.
The house broker is predicting 2.6p dividend for next year so the div at the end of December give a yield of 8% for a year and eight days!

With the land bank and commercial property holdings things are pretty much covered and given that they are building low cost (affordable ?!!)housing in the SE this doesn't seem high risk.

I didn't quite realise how "progressive" the dividend policy is here with the div. rising very strongly year on year 0.6p, 1.0p, 1.5p, 2.2p, 2.6p (E 2019)
