There was a 9 for 1 rights issue at the beginning of April
The ADVFN charts have been readjusted but the Google charts have not hence the sudden drop!

Using ball-park figures and making a lot of simplifying assumptions :

Multiply the turn-over figure by the margin, divide by the number of shares in issue and finally multiply by a typical (for the kind of company) value of P/E

e.g. ( £4000m x 0.033 / 4600m ) x 12 = 34.4p

The figures in the brackets are a crude attempt to work out the eps or earnings per share

i have a question it may be a daft one but i am still learning. How do you calculate the expected share price off the margin?

Thank you

With a margin of 3.3 %, expected share price becomes 35p and at 4.9 % share price should be 52p, which is more like it

UVA

If that's the case the shares are worth about 18p assuming 400000 trades at £10000 each and a P/E of 12

As I find it difficult to understand balance sheets I sometimes try to to get an idea of how a co works by playing with a few basic figures.

Inch seems to have had a good year in 2007 - TO £6.0 bn, Profit £240m

Assuming that their business is soley in trading vehicles and that the average price of a trade was £10,000, then they traded 600,000 vehicles at an average net profit of £400/trade

Looking at the current year, I would have liked the share price to have been 50p for the FY. At an assumed P/E of 12 this would mean an eps of about 4p or a profit of
£184m (with 4.6 bn shares). Which translates into 460,000 vehicles traded assuming the above profit/trade of £400 is maintained
