Is the interim report issued this morning, the one which is due for release on 28/10 (as per the inchcape investor site? Or will a more detailed account be released on that date?

cheers

They should give gov discounts on large German cars as they are the safest on the road imo :-)

Agree grigor.

Reckon these will be tipped in the press tomorrow, broker upgrades too - should be good for the rest of the week all in all imo.

People and firms can delay buying new cars which leads to pent up demand. Eventually they have to be replaced.

Sorry but I sold my garages to a young property man (who has now ceased tradibg !) in 2005,and as the motor trade moves so quickly Iam out of touch.
What is happening now always seems to occur after a recession,no new cars sold last year = no used cars this year so supply and demand,of course that situation is not forever.
My question is,what happens when things return to normal ?
However INCH will be debt free so should prosper.

Only worry is,as more new cars are sold used prices might drop and new margins may be very small.
I was a car dealer for 42 years and saw this situation after every downturn the 1967 pound devaluation !
However inch seem to have a strong after sales operation.

Yeah, I normally like to be up and about when results are due - missed this one.
Let's see if we can hold on to some of this morning's rise. Long term, it must be a sure-fire winner - well, as sure fire as it gets

Significantly ahead they say.

0633 GMT [Dow Jones] Inchcape's (INCH.LN) interim management statement looks very strong, driven by better trading momentum in UK, Hong Kong and Australia, says a trader. Sees a good chance of further upgrades this morning. Notes the company says it is likely to be debt free by the year's end, which should also be taken well by the market. Shares closed Monday at 32.9p. (ANT)

Can someone explain to me, as completely unitiated, why, on the LSE website, a trade has gone through as follows:

Buy 2,666,901 - Bid 34.97 , Ask 31.17 - I have not got this the wrong way round.

Just curious but learning fast - have 20000 of these at 17p

I would take an educated guess that there will be some good trading figures due out in the near future... time to top up.

Could see an nice finish heading into the weekend bell. Would not want to be out of this at the moment.....

This share looks as it will have good upward movement so I have decided to buy more shares in it :) plus it has good broker ratings. It's got to be a good buy :)

every trade is a buy and a sell - it's SETs so orders are matched between buyers and sellers.

It was at the bid so the trade was done on the buyer's terms - wouldn't read targe trades that look like sells as negatine imo. What ot probably means is someonr that had 5m to sell has found a buyer - probably means a bit of stock has shifted - especially as the price is rising now.
