I would say just EDR really. Others have a mountain to climb to compete with IGAS.Cash

Hi CC, EDR could be a close second in terms of capital appreciation, any others?
I had a quick look at UKOG and EOG. In the end bought 50:50 IGAS:EDR this morning.

BH,I think the real fireworks start when moratorium is lifted. The wider market still hasn't cottoned on yet. This is going to be the big winner in the UK fracking game, as they are significantly ahead of EDR and others.Cash

Bought a few, a bit late I know but hopefully better late than never! Expecting £1+ soon as we get nearer to the Liz Truss era.

Not inclined to believe the figs offered for reserves.
U.K drilling usually puts resources in the trillians, not 70Billion.
Somebody correct me please, check it out.

They used to talk it about a lot years ago but then the moratorium came in. I don't own Vermilion at this point but if France ever looked like they were going to change course on fracking I would fill my boots.

In the meantime we can continue to enjoy what's happening here in the UK :)

Thank you for drawing our attention to the report on shale resources of other European countries, especially those of Poland and France, which are shown as so much bigger than ours in the UK.
Vermilion Energy has a market cap of cUS$4.8 billion. Although it has resources in France, as you say, these seem to contribute only a small proportion of profits and the possibility of fracking there does not seem to be mentioned in the company's latest report.

The discussion on fracking now has changed. It's a national security issue and LT has committed to overturning the ban. This has had a great run thus far. But it will skyrocket once it dawns on the wider market this will effectively be the greenlighting of a subsector of an industry.Cash

Lets face it , if fracking were allowed IGAS would be worth 100 quid a share. The market is saying there is a 1 percent chance fracking will happen.....This red tape will kill hundreds of thousands of people by freezing to death, far more than any other issue over the last 50 years..Our useless politicans and green lobbyists are responsible.

The page below has an interesting shale "reserves" graph in it. No idea where the numbers come from, as there are no reserves at this point everything is just a resource.

Multiply by 35 to approximately convert from cubic metres to cubic feet.

AFAIK no European country except the UK has said anything concrete about allowing fracking.

Vermilion Energy (TSX:VET) is the company to watch if France were to allow fracking. They are the largest onshore producer already have acquired dominant land positions in the potential fracking basins.

Yes I think it will happen, and it will be like the Miners Strike all over again. Except this time it will about opening up fossil production rather than shutting it down.

I think word being bandied about both here and on the EDR board is transformational. Liz Truss is miles ahead in Tory leadership race she and will remove the ban on fracking.

Its literally a matter of time, from a few weeks to a month, just a waiting game at this stage. Fracking will happen here, whether the green lobby like it or not.

Article in the Telegraph suggesting the Treasury will encourage the new PM to give fracking the green light.

If fracking gets a neutral report (ie good elements and bad elements with possible suggestions to overcome the bad)from the survey and says its down to the government to weigh up all factors, then I can see this hitting £1.20.

If the government gives the go-ahead then it will be £2.50 which over 5 years could become £10.00 with dividend payments along the way.

A bad report may send us back to the 60p region.
