08/3/2016 12:46 | Oil price No company news this morning but worth commenting on the oil price which as you can see continues to rally, at one stage yesterday Brent traded at $41.04. Two things are happening, one is technical, as I mentioned yesterday the oil price charts are very strong and pulling buyers in. Brent for example is 51% up from the 12 year low of $27.10 on January 20th which by any standards is an astonishing move whatever the fundamentals are like. WTI is almost as good and of course as any self-respecting chartist will tell you that a 50% retracement means business. The other news yesterday, apart from modestly better news on stocks at Cushing and a continued, if modest, fall in US production came from South America. Ecuador announced that they are to host a meeting of Latin American oil producers in Quito on Friday. Expected are themselves and Ministers from Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. - See more at: hxxp://www.malcysblo | haydock

02/3/2016 09:08 | The I-gas story I mean . | haydock
02/3/2016 09:07 | Clearly if we are buying the story from the gusher of the Weald being the next Texas or Saudi, the I-gas position in the field is superb. The guy who said it sold out ! Tell that to the mkt ! | haydock
02/3/2016 08:50 | Thanks Haydock. I think that most of the old drills targeted the shallower Portland and the Kimmeridge was not drilled or at least not tested. It looks as if Cuadrilla however did target a Kimmeridge limestone layer at Balcome to the south in 2013, but there doesn't seem to be any recent information, not sure it was flow tested. | rogerlin
01/3/2016 20:20 | hxxps://decc-edu.map To confirm status match the block on the map to the company web page, I think you will find it is producing. You can see the other blocks below & to the left. | haydock
01/3/2016 20:14 | Yes Palmers wood is a producing site on without checking the next block to the Gatwick gusher. The company is saying , unwisely in my book nowt & won't really communicate on the subject, very unwise! My guess is that the production is from a shallower drill than the gusher, as it was stated to be a new deeper drill. I note from Egdon bb. with thanks: rogerlin 26 Feb'16 - 08:36 - 3089 of 3091 0 0 "In order to exploit the knowledge gained and commercial advantage from HH-1, UKOG farmed in to the highly promising Holmwood licence, immediately to the west of Horse Hill, for an initial 20% interest, increasing this interest to 30% after the reporting period. This asset now forms a further key piece of UKOG's core Weald Kimmeridge and Portland growth strategy. The acreage contains a Horse Hill Portland look-alike prospect plus the continuation of the now proven Kimmeridge limestone oil play. We will use our key recent knowledge to maximise the benefit from the Holmwood-1 exploration well which is planned to be drilled in late 2016 or early 2017". From UKOG's results today. | haydock
01/3/2016 19:48 | "Based in southern England, the Weald Basin is the source of approximately 50% of our current production. The area under licence is inclusive of 11 fields within which there are 10 producing sites ranging from Stockbridge, near Winchester, in the west to Palmers Wood near Gatwick in the east and now includes the Singleton field. The area has produced more than 21 million barrels of oil to date." Palmers Wood is not far from Horse Hill and could have the same Kimmeridge limestone horizons. I can't find any details of Palmers Wood but this statement from the website suggests it is a producing site. Does anyone know if that is the case? | rogerlin
01/3/2016 16:34 | From Egdon BB with thanks. taudelta1 25 Feb'16 - 11:14 - 3088 of 3091 0 0 Cuadrilla has won its appeal against a council decision to reject plans for a monitoring site in Lancashire. The Company has been given permission by the Planning Inspectorate to restore the Grange Hill shale exploration site near Singleton. 18/2/2016 11:22 | hxxp://www.upi.com/B The Gatwick gusher has to be taken with more than a pinch of slat. However there is oil down there & we are as I have said many times right next door, already extracting from a different depth. We do not seem to want to publish this fact or talk about any plans to drill deeper. Very puzzling ? | haydock
