05/8/2016 11:45 | Natural gas price Natural gas often gets a mention but rarely hits a headline on its own, yesterday was such a day. Regulars know that there is an injection season and a withdrawal season and very rarely do they interrupt each other. So, yesterday the EIA reported a draw of 6 BCF in the middle of the injection season so one had to investigate what went on. The same week last year saw an injection of 38 BCF which makes it all the more odd, the answer is one of the hottest summers on record in the US has got the air-con units going flat out at the moment. Last week it was 27% hotter than the 5 year average and another interesting fact is that, also last week, there were 87 gas rigs working against 220 this time last year. Simple really but having had an oversupply of natural gas for some time now it looks like a combination of falling investment and the weather are bringing the commodity back into equilibrium, those bulls may well be on the right track… | allotment

29/7/2016 08:17 | Interesting that the government is holding back on Hinkley point nuclear plant. A gas-centric strategy would be cheaper. | julcester

15/7/2016 09:07 | 09:00 - 15/07 Buy 80402 12.4375p £9,999.9988 Looking for a bit more clarity on this share price Lots of downside info over the last few months, not balanced by anything other than mkt hints, as above, that this is far from the case. Expecting to see them divest some of the portfolio for hard cash & free drilling to offset the debt. | haydock
14/7/2016 10:24 | Never understood bonds, however the value at less than par is common, & a company that was dead as a duck would not have bonds changing hands at the prices I-gas has seen this week. Anyway some-one has just bought : 10:06 - 14/07 Buy 149561 12.5625p £18,788.6006 Shorters took it down & may well be tucking in on the way back ? | haydock
14/7/2016 10:11 | Haydock, if the bond price remains below 100, isn't that saying the market doesn't believe the bond can repaid in full. If it can't, there is surely zero fundamental value in the shares. | abadan2

13/7/2016 09:17 | With thanks to BB12 on LSE. because that would make no sense at all, unless you are a shorter looking to spin a tale of woe in which case, meh whatever! Mr Mystery Bond Holder failed by 6% to get enough bonds. So the bondholders have no power. Which leaves us with a bond price of 78.75c, barely off the $1 offer price. So, as TW is fond of telling us - the bond price is an indication to the health of the company. (Or are you now rowing back on that advice now it doesn't suit the shorter's narrative?) Add to that a 1 milllion share buy today and there is something good in the air. | haydock
12/7/2016 10:21 | Back in August - Now we are almost detached from Europe, this matters more than ever! ;) UK Energy Minister Lord Bourne said: “As part of our long-term plan to build a more resilient economy, create jobs and deliver secure energy supplies, we continue to back our onshore oil and gas industry and the safe development of shale gas in the UK. This is why the OGA has moved quickly to confirm the winners of licence blocks which do not need further environmental assessment. “Keeping the lights on and powering the economy is not negotiable, and these industries will play a key part in providing secure and reliable energy to UK homes and businesses for decades to come. “It’s important we press on and get shale moving, while maintaining strong environmental controls. Investment in shale could reach £33 billion and support 64,000 jobs creating financial security for hardworking people and their families, whilst providing a cost-efficient bridge to lower-carbon energy use.” | eddie max

10/7/2016 07:46 | IGas is on alert for a possible hostile takeover 10th July 2016 after a mystery fund snapped up over a quarter of its bonds to put it within 6pc of a controlling interest. | dice1950
07/7/2016 19:52 | The bonds were bought at 75 cents in the $1, that doesn't sound like bonds of a company headed down the pan.The bonds are worth more as in investment with 10% interest. | julcester |
