Is it absurd? Can someone quickly pull up:

- market value
- total revenue and net income
- growth rate
- margins

...for Apple and separately for the FTSE100 and FTSE250?

2.8 trillion

Just an obvious typo - $2.8 trillion, with Apple at $3 trillion being worth circa 5% more.

Masurenguy, I don't think you mean £2.8 billion...... Shell is more than £153 billion.

You're absolutely right. For example, Apple at $192 per share now has a market cap of $3 trillion. That is worth more than the current aggregate of all the FTSE 100 & FTSE 250 companies, which collectively have a total market cap of $2.8bn. This means that Apple, as an individual business, is currently valued at circa 5% more than the combined value of the top 350 quoted UK companies. Purely absurd!

True. But why is the share price languishing at a 3 year low?! Must be missing something.

We have a lot of volatility in the markets, all tailwinds here

I am sure it is nothing like that, but if the update disappoints, as I said shortly after the last update (if memory serves me correct), then I want to see a clear plan acknowledging the issues and what they are going to do to fix the issues.
Notable cost cutting initiatives and some hefty inside buying by the BOD too, to demonstrate that they have full confidence in their plans.
Some of these measures should still be implemented in the event of only just meeting guidance on profit. TT should by now be demonstrably performing well. I would like to see some specifics on TT this time. It was quite opaque last time.
This is IMO a sticky inflationary environment and corporate complacency will be punished. Especially if it risks a historically effective cash machine, which this company was - and hopefully still is.
I equally hope the large shareholders, who are the only ones really that can call the tune, feel similarly.
Anyway, let's try to be positive. Not long to wait. GLA.

The whole sector seems to be suffering right now. CMCX and PLUS are not too far off from their 52-week lows. TCAP is also dropping like a stone every day. I don't really understand what is driving sentiment. Surely, market volatility and prolonged high interest rates are what help these guys make money. I must be missing something.

Let's hope the timing of the sick leave is purely coincidental to the timing of the next update, but echo sentiments re wishing a quick recovery.

This is a tricky one. New year low printed, with 15 days until the next update.
IMO, a result of the market having concerns over TT, rather than the 'main' business. I do not think it has much to do with June stepping back for some medical leave.
I wish her well, a speedy recovery, and hope it is nothing serious.
While I have questions over her suitability to lead this company at the time of print, for reasons a few of us have outlined in the past, I strongly hope the next update gives us holders some cheer.
I want to add more, but am sitting on my hands for now. GLA.

Added 15% to my holding today at 664 and a bit. IGG looks a reasonable bet to me below 700, but small bites seem prudent in this market.

Harsh! Based on the wording in the RNS, sounds like its only brief, say 3-4 weeks

Step change speaking to the day time customer support, phone answered in seconds and problem resolved in minutes. I didn't fail to mention yesterday evening's fiasco.

Just been trying to contact customer service on the telephone, nigh on 30 minutes to get through, eventually I was put through to what sounded like a guy mumbling from the bottom of a deep well!

I tried and tried but he made no effort to alter the position of his Microphone, I eventually gave up, it was the worst effort at customer service I've ever experienced.

They need to get something done because it will cost them customers and investors if it's the best they can do!!

Not true net curtains. 2 factor authentication is an option with IG.

The customer can turn on or off. It is not compulsory like with AJ Bell and ii. I use all 3 BTW, aj for sipp, ii on family accounts, ig for isa, shares etc

gbh2: Noted.
However AJ Bell does have 2-factor authentication (you can use mobile or email) and, with their very recent update, ii also have 2-factor authentication.

So ig is the one missing out on customers who do worry about this sort of stuff.

The reason I'm writing on this board is yesterday I was going to buy but the lack of 2-factor authentication on the laptop made me pause for thought.

All on-line banking has 2-factor authentication. It's ground zero of security.

I'm still thinking it through.

net, IF you have a doubt about anything you do, don't do it, simples.

I've used IG for 20 odd years without an issue, fwiw I don't trust anything Financial to a Mobile phone.
