26/5/2021 13:17 | Material shortage headlines suggest not particularly bricks, which if correct is not good for IBST if projects get delayed by other material shortages. | wad collector
25/5/2021 08:14 | Been topping up here, cannot help thinking they have the whip hand on pricing | daneswooddynamo
18/5/2021 10:46 | Good update from Forterra... well fairly good. Ibstock's last update was also good, share price still lagging for no good reason. Holding on confidently to my brick shares. | edmundshaw
13/5/2021 14:39 | Markets are not always rational... thank goodness :)) | edmundshaw
13/5/2021 10:08 | I don't really see that what is happening in the markets will stop the uk wanting bricks somehow? Bricks are on the list of short supplies! | m12rtn
12/5/2021 17:01 | I keep buying | castleford tiger
12/5/2021 13:29 | Looks to be shaping up a bit, is it a winner? | sirrux
10/5/2021 22:27 | I agree @daneswooddynamo. I have shifted some FORT money into IBST until the disparity is reversed... | edmundshaw
10/5/2021 11:06 | Can’t help feeling ibstock has 10-15 percent in it to reset relative to forterra | daneswooddynamo
22/4/2021 11:57 | Excellent update. Forterra up nearly as much as Ibstock after this update. Forterra more of a market favourite at the moment, but I feel confident that will correct in due course... | edmundshaw
22/4/2021 08:19 | Modestly ahead of forecasts, £12m EBITDA to be added and confident in the future. As per previous comments here, I suspect they could upgrade again. The market continues to refuse to factor this in with the shares substantially off pre-covid levels. It has almost become a trading share this, it lurches sharply about in both directions. That said, a few stubborn ones showing a some signs of life of late so perhaps patience will pay off here too. All imo DYOR | sphere25
19/3/2021 12:48 | This stock was the worse performing share in my Investment Club's share Competition for the past 12 months. We therefore decided to buy some this morning and I'm pleased with the performance over the past 3 hours! | ygor705
12/3/2021 12:25 | Management are "comfortable" with consensus earnings given continuing uncertainty. That seems to me to isuggest that if normality comes and there are no shocks they should beat consensus. I believe consensus is the range 14-19p. So for me a price of 230p is not particularly stretched given the tailwinds of housebuilding need and growth plans. | edmundshaw
12/3/2021 10:51 | You are right with the profit taking. That's what I did. Just think it went to its peak for the short term and sold at 245. I'll buy back in again at around 215 if it goes there. | tonytaxi
10/3/2021 12:27 | As time goes on, I have come to increasingly believe that on the whole, all things carefully considered, the 'market' is a @!#$ing idiot. | indigocarmine
10/3/2021 11:40 | Yes though doesn't look like the market is very excited about them , price down thruppence now. 1.6p div seems reasonable in the face of a loss. | wad collector
10/3/2021 07:51 | Excellent end of year results, well positioned to return to profit this year and a dividend payout. | cheshire
10/3/2021 07:48 | Operational Headlines?Resilient operational performance and strategic progress against unprecedented backdrop of COVID-19?Health and safety of all our people has remained the key priority throughout?Strong progress against operational strategy, notably in area of ESG; achieved "AA" rating from MSCI?Following initial sharp contraction in market demand from late March 2020, steady and sustained recovery of demand patterns over remainder of year?Group wide restructuring programme to reshape and upgrade the business completed in H2, delivering up to £20 million of cost savings in FY21, at a cash cost of £9 millionFinancial Headlines?Revenue decline of 23% reflects impact of COVID-19 pandemic, with significant reductions in both Clay Division, down 29%, and Concrete Division, down 5%?Adjusted EBITDA1 of £52 million (2019: £122 million) down 57% reflecting lower sales volumes and impact of operational gearing?Statutory loss before tax of £24 million (2019: £82 million profit) reflects lower trading performance and exceptional costs of £36 million principally related to COVID-19 and restructuring | cheshire
09/3/2021 16:15 | Using bricks to build a factory to make more bricks seems like a good plan! | wad collector
09/3/2021 16:15 | Small dividend reinstated at Forterra today and an small but impressive profit... I am expecting similar fromIbstock - I don't see why not. | edmundshaw
09/3/2021 13:23 | Personally, I'm not convinced rises in bond yields will be sustained. However, irrespective of my thoughts, I would agree that committing to building a factory in what are still quite uncertain times would be a brave (possibly even foolhardy) decision. | indigocarmine
09/3/2021 12:19 | Not if bond yields rising tells them that interest rates are going to rise, then putting that factory on hold might not be a mistake. | lefrene
09/3/2021 12:12 | I can't see how the news tomorrow will be anything other than very positive. Homebuilding is going into overdrive, and perhaps the only possible question will be if Ibstock can fully capitalize on the opportunity. Although entirely understandable, putting the plan for a new factory on hold last March might come back to bite them. | indigocarmine
09/3/2021 11:36 | ADVFN app showing news today, but cannot find it. Pretty sure there's going to be good news tomorrow from what a construction industry friend has told me. | cheshire
08/3/2021 16:00 | I read something a few months ago suggesting Ibstock could be a good recovery stock, I bought some and have seen a nice rise since then. I noticed things are ticking up again today and wonder if the final results on Wednesday could be better than expected. It would appear that building supplies are in big demand and that something like 80% of the UK brick supply is made by 3 players, Ibstock being one of the three. A return to an share price of over 300p could well be on the cards quite soon IMHO. | cheshire |
