The RNS does not actually say they are relocating the 3rd well based on new data. You can't just move a drill location, that needs a new application and even with regard to the 3rd well the RNS does not state this. The RNS states the info will be used to check the 3rd well is located as expected with regard to the target, it doesn't say what their intentions are if it isn't and what the timescales are for relocating. A lot of reading between the lines here. The second well is located on the old data.

If they were as confident as you that it would only take a week i am sure they would have stated that in the RNS.

I am concerned the new 3D may tell a markedly different story to the old 3D but I don't suppose we will hear for quite some time.

That's how it works. You apply for the permit when the rig is mobilised. We should have it in about a week from now and then we go to the drilling location for spud.

Serenity is a nice drill in a great location right next to the Tain discovery. 70% COS.

Why are they applying / waiting for Serenity Drilling Permit. Did they not know they were drilling Serenity ? They should already have an approved permit unless the drill location has changed?

That's almost certainly true - they had plaaned for another 30 days or so to finalise the Serenity permits, but have had to bring them forward. Presumably all the prep work for them is done, so hoepfully the won't take too long.

It certainly makes sense to swap the order. Lpt2 showed up flaws in their model. They now have additonal data from the well and the purchased seismic, it would be crazy to keep drilling till they've analysed what they can.

hey Dodger, am the first one mentioned 20p, so respect copy rights please, and without my blessing it won't go near there. As mentioned Lombard stopped selling as they got no appetite to go as low as 20p, so rest assured without a seller mm just by themselves can't take it down that far as they get hit with pi's buys...

Not much downside if we get back to 40p before the results of the drill - a 40% drop from there would take us back to 25p area.

Those getting in now before the hype starts will hardly lose anything and will have a pop at the 10 x bag opportunity.

Clearly they have lost faith in their own data. It doesn't sound like they are sure where to drill after the recent failure.

It makes me wonder if they are actually applying for new permits at Serenity because they have changed the location of the drill. Down manning the rig and no time scales given sounds like they are not expecting those permits anytime soon.

I bet this is the start of the rise back up to the 40p area. We have direction and a good chance of success - even a duster won't be a wipeout as we will probably be at 40p+ by the time the results come out so might fall back to 25p?

Win/win for us holders at this level.

shorterofdoom, there is always a risk, it's currently losing 27p vs £2p if SA comes good, play it whichever way you want, but be careful either way...
