When taking a Christmas photo of a bunch of corporate lawyers don’t ask them to say ‘cheese’ just before you snap it. I’ve found it more effective to ask them to say ‘fees’. Bigger smiles.

You don't need a corporate lawyer to explain what 75% is.

However, I am a corporate lawyer and today is your lucky day. Paypal?

Cannacord and Peel buys on behalf of GTE so that GTE don't need to pay out on the shares if the deal goes through. In effect it cancels the shares which have no voting rights. The fact that the sellers of the shares would have been more likely to vote against the deal indirectly helps the acquisition. Having said that about 70% of retail don't bother voting, only longterm holders (like folk on this board).
Of couse, if the deal doesn't succeed, these shares will be flooding back on the market leaving quite overhang. Marine Boy and Splasher will be ready to do some mopping up by the sound of it.

Here's a fact.
GTE sinking like a stone.
12p or 9p, your choice.

according to the raft of recent RNS's it would appear that Cannacord and Peel are the primary big buyers but they are immediately selling onto other funds who are either directly connected with or already have a position in GTE

looks like they are scooping up as many I3E shares as they can to make sure the deal goes through as it stands

grand larceny in plain market sight

Unlike you Tony, I don't thrive on thumbs up.
As for the value you have added. Oh dear oh dear, what a disaster.
i3e taken out at 12p.
You should be eating humble pie.

marmar80 - find and read the scheme document on the i3e website.
Has all the info.
You're looking for the date of the court and general meeting.

Marine Boy,

Your average post seems to get a 1 thumbs down I.e. most seem to think youre a prat - do yourself a favour - save some energy and give it a rest - you add no value.

When will they decide about this takeover, do we know the date already? Nothing in the corporate actions on my account.

Tell you what Tony, why don't you send GTE one of your spreadsheets & explain to them why they are not paying enough for i3e.

The TO offer has caused a lot of uncertainty among investors.

I've said in the past that we should take it and stand by this, but the dropping price of GTE degrades the deal and pushes my threshold of tollerance.
On the other hand, there are headwinds regarding O&G prices which, without the deal, could negatively impact I3E's shareprice and dividend moving forwards. So this favors the deal.

Do I want GTE shares? Again I'm conflicted. It wouldn't be a bad time to buy and hold a company like GTE (+I3e) given that their share price is sitting (more or less) on a major baseline. But too early to make a judgement looking at the chart. I'm likely to take the shares and hold them, if there's a sell off I may add, but not via Mix and Match.

I would love a white knight to appear (common Serica), but probably won't happen in the current O&G climate. hoping....

Marine Boy - calling you out for some of your stupid comments does not make me a cheerleader for Majid & Co.

As far as the proposed deal with GTE - i've already stated I think its a dog of a deal for i3e shareholders - what are you talking about you eeyydddiioott?

As far as defending Majid - yes i've defended him in the past in response to what in my opinion has been unfair criticism at times but i'm not defending him this time as it appears he has put his interests and those of his Management Team ahead of ordinary shareholders.

I will be interested to hear what he says in the upcoming podcast but my understanding is that it will be on proactive investors and hence will not be taking any questions which will be disappointing.

And whats the childish comment "Ha ha ha, everyones going to SQZ" all about ?

Wonder where the share price would be now if the company wasn’t being taken over.
Fanny 7p does come to mind with the oil drop.😉
If the takeover doesn’t happen then a bloodbath will happen to the share price and dividend.
Glad Iam out of oil for the time being and came out unscathed and with a profit.
