I'm entirely happy with the concept of a fundraise. It was odd that they only got £100m ish at ipo only for the share to then trade at a 20% premium (suggesting demand for the stock was indeed there). For a while I was kicking myself for only taking a small holding but glad now I should have the chance to top up without having to pay too big a premium to nav.

Many opportunities for hgen to invest in and the valuations of listed hydrogen firms makes the opportunity to invest in non listed firms very attractive. I look forward to the first time one of hgens holdings ipo. Roll on the fundraise, I'm in.

There was me thinking that raising new money for new opportunities was what funds are all about.

All these years I've been wrong !

£46m left from the recent IPO and already they want to raise more, citing opportunities to invest up to £500m. Dilution for existing holders, glad I'm not one of them. Would expect several more funding rounds.

Correction- taken from the Key Information Document.

"It is anticipated that, once the Initial Net Proceeds are fully invested, at least 70 per cent. of the Company's assets will be invested
in Private Hydrogen Assets with the balance invested in Listed Hydrogen Assets."

The KIID, prospectus etc issued at IPO was very clear. Approx 10% (from memory) to be invested in listed hydrogen assets, the remainder in non listed. So I think at most we are now 30% invested, 20% (ish) in Sunfire and 10% in listed stocks. They were clear it would take about a year before all capital invested. Happily, listed hydrogen firms pulled back from all time highs at about the right time for HGEN to invest. Any changes to NAV to date is purely charges and movement in listed assets. From memory I think the non listed assets are to be revalued quarterly.

Good to see the net asset value has turned and now starting to climb steadily, since 7th October.

Hopefully that means the funds are now fully invested and charges have bottomed out.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

Good timing Steel!
I'm surprised this has dropped back although just watching from the sidelines.

Sold out of this on 8/9. Trying my luck on another upcoming renewables trust IPO.
Good luck all.

£4.50 was pretty good given the circumstances at the time and looking at that chart. Back in those days I convinced myself what goes down from a spike would go up again (with a similar share) but how little I knew! A hard lesson learnt which I have never forgotten. Now I always keep an eye on company debt levels and am wary of bubbles/spikes but there's always more to learn.
I see TRIG is on PB right now but not much of a discount to entice new investors, although there seems to be a healthy dividend return.

Unfortunately not. Got out around the £4.50 mark. With work commitments at the time, I would probably have missed the subsequent spike anyway, so no regrets. It made headlines in the FT at the time.

Steel, I remember you mentioning this on the Sqz thread and also saw this at the time on PB. Glad it's worked out, a good call. Not being able to participate via PB from an ISA is a slight frustration for me.

By the way back in 2000 did you get out on the top of that dot-com spike? 🚀 I missed my chance on something similar.

JCB are developing their own Hydrogen engine but they will not take outside investment.

I was hoping that HGEN could benefit from a stake in JCB.

bounty - this was a wild punt for me via the IPO. Certainly hope for a repeat of a similar punt I took on On-Line PLC back in the 90's!

Steel - I'm keeping this on my watch list and there will be other opportunities other than those I'm already in :) 🔍

Do you think we may be at the very early stages of a green bubble where every thing green or low carbon goes bananas? Like me you probably remember the dot com bubble where paper fortunes were made and lost.
