07/3/2005 13:27 | lol LOM2. pirate, what are you sorry for? | milbo
07/3/2005 12:40 | Sorry mibo. | pirate
07/3/2005 12:26 | Well, I guess they didn't just go for the latest B&Q special, vicotumeric. Yep, wall-paper undoubtedly counts as an expense, pirate :) What I'm wondering is if the market has properly taken into account the inevitable impact Huveaux's unusualand extensive outlays this year had on profits. The 1p dividend is good news - I expected less than that. | milbo
07/3/2005 11:57 | I am sure that the net profit is after the cost of the wall paper. | pirate
07/3/2005 11:43 | milbo how much did the wallpaper cost? I recall that the decoration of the palace came under the spotlight when the Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine, declared his intention to refurbish his Lords apartment with £300 a roll wallpaper in the style of Pugin. lol | vicotumeric
07/3/2005 11:33 | Election printing are started already. I had few posted to me. | pirate
07/3/2005 10:46 | The election date is unlikely to be announced until April. What we don't yet have is details re refurbishment of the new offices. We do know that management invited analysts to visit their plush new premises shortly after issuing the profit warning. That may or may not have been a gentle hint to the market as to why profits didn't reach expectations this year. | milbo
07/3/2005 09:53 | Not until the election date is announced!! | rat attack
07/3/2005 09:21 | watch this rise | dartboard
07/3/2005 08:28 | Thank you dr. LONDON (AFX) - Huveaux PLC said its full-year pretax profit before exceptional items doubled to 2.45 mln stg after its sales more than trebled 14.4 mln stg. Pretax profit grew to 2.1 mln stg from 1.2 mln. The politics and education publisher raised its full-year dividend by 14 pct to 1.00 pence. Looking ahead, the company said its results for January and February are encouraging, giving it an overall outlook for 2005 of "continued significant growth" enhanced by the expected UK General Election in May. tc | pirate
04/3/2005 15:20 | I think milbo is refering to the audited final results announcement to be made on monday pirate, though of course we already know its content with regard to turnover & profit. | dr kilmore
04/3/2005 14:24 | milbo The results just came out. What results are you talking please. | pirate
04/3/2005 13:25 | Well I'm in. Only with a small holding - just in case... though I suspect that even if the price drops after the results come out, the mms will make it difficult for small investors to buy in at much less than the current price. | milbo
04/3/2005 12:09 | I hope so pirate, could do with it right now. | dr kilmore
04/3/2005 10:22 | dr - It looks like some good news are on the way. It might surprise you unexpectedly. | pirate
04/3/2005 09:34 | well the expected buying has started with peeps hoping for a little sweetner added to what we already know. It would not surprise me if we had an indication of more acquisition activity of the initial talks stage. Then again nothing hvx does surprises me anymore! | dr kilmore
03/3/2005 20:09 | We had this results about three weeks ago: - For the year to 31 December 2004, turnover more than trebled to approximately #14.4 million (2003: #4.6 million) - Pre-tax profits more than doubled to approximately #2.4 million (2003: #1.2 million) - Earnings per share expected to grow by approximately 10% | pirate
02/3/2005 16:35 | Thanks dr k. Actually considered buying some Medisys today, but the volatility is just too terrifying. Huveaux seems like a safer bet, and I'm fairly surprised there isn't a bit more interest in it. | milbo
02/3/2005 16:15 | right call milbo. As the results are already known there would have to be a surprise such as a really good cash acquisition announced for the share price to motor too far. My guess is there may be some small buying on friday(just in case) with some more just before the ex-div date. I reckon that this could be the time to buy as at least you'd probably cover your dealing costs/spread with the divi payment. As ever dyor and best of luck! | dr kilmore
02/3/2005 12:44 | Thanks pirate. Think I'll wait until after the results. It does seem that this share can do no right as far as the market's concerned right now, so whatever the results reveal the share price will probably get punished further. | milbo
01/3/2005 18:02 | Any bad news 35P, good news 70P. Current price 42p. Worth dipping. | pirate
01/3/2005 13:06 | Wondering if it's worth a cautious dip, despite the horrendous spread. On other hand, can't help suspecting there must be a whole bundle of sub 39p stop loss orders waiting to be triggered. Decisions decisions. Anyone got any views? Is it worth hanging on for a bit in case we get a fall to the early 30s? | milbo
01/3/2005 10:01 | LOM2 - you'll maybe get an opportunity to cover when the results come out. Or maybe you'll get jabbed up the backside by a rising knife. Who knows? | bic2b |
