04/1/2005 21:09 | Apparently this was tipped by the Mail on Sunday - a New Year tip, that must be the kiss of death, such a shame!! | rat attack
24/12/2004 10:15 | bought in to this co recently. Fundamentals look good, management good, strategy good, outlook good. Whats not to like? Set my own price target of 75p by final results time. We shall see. | dr kilmore
23/12/2004 12:34 | So John van Kuffeler, Director, clearly still believes the shares are worth holding ... | mctmct
08/12/2004 11:51 | Anyone know why the share price is rising today when no-one is buying? | reynard46

27/10/2004 18:16 | Thanks HB that's really helpful | beaufort1
27/10/2004 16:45 | Beaufort1: From several indications as follows... (all log charts) 1/. The 2 year chart shows considerable support at 51.5p and I don't see it going below that again. 2/. The 3 year chart shows a quite well defined upwards, parallel channel which the recent 51.5p close bounced off nicely. For the share price to remain in the channel it has to now go up quite strongly. 3/. It seems to me that the shars have been in the doldrums for quite a while and if they are going to get a technical impulse due to timing it usually results in a three-stage bull run. 4/. If a three-stage rise is about to happen then my chart predicts a target of over 90p which is where the top of the upwards, parallel channel will be by the time it is likely to get there. 5/. The perfect (normal) three-stage rise has roughly equal stages on a log chart and the stops that I mentioned are where those points are on the chart. I haven't bought yet but if HVX gets going from here then I shall pile in with confidence. If 50.5 p is broken then all this is off. Regards | horneblower
27/10/2004 11:05 | Why do you read those conclusions from the chart HB? The reason I am in these shares is John van Kuffeler who is the founder and guiding spirit of HVX. He is a very smart cookie and an experienced dealmaker. He was CEO of the Provident Financial group (FTSE 250 - was in the FTSE 100 briefly. Boadicea is right this is all about economies of scale and efficient management of assets. | beaufort1
25/10/2004 10:26 | Hello. Anybody there? I think this share is about to wake up. I'm afraid I'm a chartist, but my chart says that we are about to get some activity. The time is ripe. Wake up Sleeping Beauty. Your time has come. I'm looking for a three-stage rise...65p, 83p, 100p. No doubt someone else will tell me why. | horneblower
06/8/2004 12:19 | HVX looks a great bargain. The revenues and profit are growing strongly, management forecast further strong growth. Management are planning to grow a FTSE 250 company. They may fail, of course, but they seem to be meeting targets so far and, if they succeed, this is going to make someone a lot of money. I have bought 20k for my SIPP, and will top up if the price falls. Here's an analyst report: "... The acquisitive publishing company Huveaux has completed its biggest acquisition to date - and its 6th within three years - with a 15.7 million pound deal to buy specialist political publisher Parliamentary Communications. The acquisition was funded by a placing of 35 million shares at 50p. Parliamentary Communications is Huveaux's fourth political publisher and further bulks up the group, which has long term ambitions to become a FTSE 250 publishing company and ultimately join the FT-SE 100. The new business owns specialist political journals and websites that cover the affairs of the UK government, the European Parliament and the European Commission. In the year to end June 2003 it had turnover of 7.3 million pounds and gross profits of 2.6 million pounds. Huveaux emphasised that the business is characterised by high profit margins and positive cashflow. The acquisition is a major strategic step for Huveaux as the opportunities for revenue and cost synergies with the group's other political publishing businesses are believed to be considerable." | mctmct
10/5/2004 09:17 | Basically this company seems to be less about organic growth than efficiency of scale. My understanding is that by bringing together a collection of small operations which are essentially providing the same type of service, albeit in different places, it expects to combine overheads into a lower total and so improve profitability. Increasing eurocracy should also supply some growth aspects. Cross-selling opportunities may arise as an added bonus. The strategy seems to be working imho. | boadicea
06/5/2004 07:42 | think this will be pulled lower today as a result of the placing at 50p....new shares will represent 36% of the total issued share capital......expecti | sportbilly1976

04/5/2004 09:21 | 34% up this am; no RNS. An explanation would seem necessary, or at least wise - even if only that the management know no reason. | boadicea
