I've got no problem disclosing my own trading history - but it makes very sad reading, so you need to get a handkerchief or three before you read further.

In my SIPP a/c, there have been 13 trades in Hur since 2014.

Overall the weighted average price paid for purchases = 48.74p
the weighted average price received = 18.44p

Things are a bit more convoluted than those figures suggest. I entered in 2014 and exited after 4 months. I then re-entered in 2018 and made 7 purchases, topsliced in 2019, regretted it and made 2 more purchases before selling the lot last february.

I also held Hur in my ISA, where there were 8 transactions. Overall the weighted average price paid for ISA purchases = 42.48p
the weighted average price received = 19.44p

Having bought all the way up to the top I made the classic mistake of averaging down with my final purchase as late as early january 2020. I sold the lot in Feb.

Given the relative size of the 2 sub-portfolios, I lost about 60% of my investment here. And given that my holding peaked at about 20% of my total portfolio value, that equates to a loss of around 12% of my investible capital.

That's a really dismal and disappointing trading record. However, I should say that I do not pretend to be a trader, I am a LTBH investor, I pick investments which I hope will make a multi-bag return and I'm happy to wait years for that to eventuate. I have had a reasonable amount of success and have been living on my investments for 20 years.

I take a crumb of comfort here in reflecting that I successfully avoided locked in syndrome as exemplified by FF and Leo, so when the awful truth became clear I acted and avoided the full horror of the share price collapse. I lost money but I didn't lose agency, objectivity and the ability to face the truth.

Fat Frank, don't take my comment as being aimed specifically at you and please stick around.

jacks13: I apologise, but when people gang up against me I tend to fight my corner.

To be honest I'm finding this all very depressing and unhelpful

I will apologise to all those that I have affronted and close my account.

Good luck to all holders.

Bye Bye,

Fat Frank

This board has descended into farce. I haven't witnessed a squabble like this since I was an eleven-year-old. Comical though.

If I had known the price was going to drop by 40% I would have sold the lot.

But I didn't

Every holder lost 40% on Friday - what's your point?

So on Friday you lost over 40% on the 2.5m shares you hold?

Oh and as for your 'good call' to sell at 2.2p I actually bought more at that stage and, on my brokers advice, sold at a 40% profit.

And today post 22319 he didn't.

Checking my H&L trading notes I bought at 2.84 and sold at 4.14. Net of costs.

Comfortable 40%

I still hold 2.5m shares

Fat Frank, can you please advise who your brokers are as I'd like them to manage a pot of my money as they seem to have an excellent grasp of market timing, I thought I was good but they are something else."

Name me one broker that would not advise to sell on a 40% profit. He did not advise me to buy, but simply pointed out that I should take what profit was there to reduce my overall loss.

He is not a supporter of HUR

I'm happy for you Frank on that excellent trade. Are you in now? If so at what price?

Were you caught on Friday holding shares or have you been posting without holding any shares which by your own posts means you have an agenda?

Hardly, just clarifying what TGG stated as I understood what he meant.

TGG/ngms27: As I stated I made a 40% return. As stated I did not buy at the very bottom. As stated I did not sell at the very top. If I had I would have made more.

Why are you beating yourself up over the fact that someone has managed to reduce their considerable losses?
