Have closed my HTG shareholding bought early in the year and I am adding to SDX Sondex. HTG has outperformed SDX by 40% this year, that I believe will not now persist.
good luck mon amis.

AMEC took analysts on two day trip to Canadian Oil Sands ... v bullish and probably explains HTG rise today

Hunting is the biggest and most geared oil services play on Canada Oil Sands growth

I believe the sector is being picked out as one to short or sell.
All my oil services holdings show weakness. I'm trying to ride it out.
HTG looks very good value at the current price but only if the Market agrees.

Really don't get the massive drop over the last 10 days, but still belive this is a sound long term stock. doubled my holdings yesterday at £ 7.13. Average play. Beercap

Well I was stopped out of most of my holding today after what sounded like a very positive trading statement. It seems unless HTG's statements are filled with superlatives, then the price takes a bashing.

It's been a great ride for the last 4 years or so, and I don't think it's over just yet. However, the market generally looks a little fragile and the dollar has again come under pressure which doesn't help HTG's cause. That said, I would still expect HTG to exceed £100m profit this year, which makes it look good value.

I hope to increase my holding again in the future and good luck to all holders.

Did take some profits after reading in Resouece Investor(internet) about drilling slowing down in Canada with lots of rigs idle due to costs being too high. These costs are now coming down.

Barty,

Post 81051.

Thanks very much.

Something else for you to ponder......

PET gets USOTC:PTREF listing.

PET = ITOCHU = HUNTING PLC = CHEVRON link.

Major shareholding in Hunting = JP Morgan...

Simon K previously stated JP Morgan on the sidelines waiting to pump into PET..

See below from Iraqi Trade Conference Agenda in London 26-27th June:-

14.00 PANEL SESSION: STRENGTHENING IRAQ'S
FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR

A key component to securing a prosperous future through
foreign investment in Iraq is a well-regulated modern banking
and financial services sector.

What is the Iraqi Government
doing to make this happen?

How can the international banking
and finance community contribute to the effort?

People,

Quite a few posts from myself posted across today to give you a flavour of just what Hunting Plc may be involved with namely PET.

There is a direct link from PET = Itochu = Hunting Plc = Chevron.

PET has just obtained a US listing USOTC:PTREF

See PET thread for what's up for grabs for HTG in Iraq.

Dave

A conversion of the S and L engineering contract awarded to PET in September 2005 has always been one of David Horgans aspirations.

I think a lot will depend on how PET is performing on the ground with the existing signed contract as to how the Iraquis view giving PET a PSA to greater depths.

Tie this in with Dipbob's research with Hunting PLC, specialists at deep drilling, and the picture comes clearer. Would PET be tying in with their expertise to look for deepr reservoirs below the current shallow S and L reserves.

For a good performance with the current work, I can see PET being "Rewarded" by the MOI with a PSA by way of a "Thank you". They want companies to get on the with the Contracts awarded, and not to sit there waiting for the security situation to improve.

I rather dismiss reports of "Competitive Tenders" etc. Thats just not how the Middle East operatives. It's Contacts, Favours, Thank you's, and a few shillings slipped into the wallets of the decision makers.

So in the report due out in the next two weeks we should be updated on.

1. Progress on S and L.

2. Update on the Merjan study.

3. Update on Block Six.

4. Update on the Halfaya Super field. Remember the MOI approached PET to do work on this project.

5. Appraisal by DH on the HCL progress.

6. Update on Jordan.

7. How the Itochu/Makman partnership is working.

8. Financials.

We may be hungry for information now, but soon we will be so full we're reaching for the Rennies!!:-))

& Simon K.....

Ask your self a question?

Who are the money makers for Hunting Plc? (Suggest you look at no's 3 & 4)!

Pobably explains why you say they are in the background ready to start accumulating in PET.

Especially Hunting Plc said in a recent RNS (4604V) AGM Trading Statement on 25/4/07....

"Hunting Energy has experienced new and further growth throughout its global
facilities. Our Asian Group has benefited strongly from Middle East and Far East
contracts".

McLellan,

Post 80987

Here's my take of the US OTC listing for PET.....

Its a perfect opportunity for PET linked companies, insti's & individuals in the know to top up over the pond discreetly in the US without the city being so aware over here....especially when you consider what I categorically proved before on previous postings on advfn....

2) "Hunting E&P - 25 years of togetherness"

Jack II was the deepest drill on the planet.

Unbelievable!!!

PET are linked via Itochu via Hunting Plc to Chevron who are ironically the sponsors of the Iraq Oil & Gas Summit on 28th - 30th May 2007!

And:- The Hunting & Chevron Partnership goes back decades ;-)

Dipbob - 15 May'07 - 19:01 - 77879 of 78140

Mclellan,

Seafood feast:- Itochu/Hunting/Chevron has got to be the link = unbelievable past track record on Jack II

& if they can go down that far through water first....how deep can they drill on dry land in Iraq.

Exactly how much is available at those depths in Iraq?

Its never been tested!

Stop ducking the issue people, trying to burying my earlier finds for your own material gains & answer the question for the genuine PI investors on this bulletin board thread...

There is a direct link between PET, ITOCHU, VIA HUNTING PLC to CHEVRON is there not?

PET are "inbed" with Iraq, Japan, UK & US are they not?

See posts:- 77860, 77871 & 77876.
