Unless things have gone drastically wrong the company should be OK and with a turnover of 8mio should not be a basket case. THe purchase of 100k suggests that someone at least is taking a rosy view.

Ok guys/gals any comments on the recent falls? Mkt cap as per ADVFN stats a derisory £900k, yes there was a warning tucked away in the interims but are things that bad? Thanks. ;--))

The shares are very cheap still and the results were not that bad - EXCEPT, tucked away in the text is a warning that they will not hit full year expectations. The IT jobs market is fairly healthy at the moment and if this continues then HSS may prove a very good investment. However, the comment that contract terms are getting shorter could be an early indication of lack of confidence in the market.

Quite a bullish AGM statement this morning - see below. It does look like the company could be profitable this year. One would have hoped that the MM's would have narrowed the spread to create a bit of interest in the shares, but instead they have widened it.

At the AGM of Highams Systems Services Group plc, the AIM-listed IT recruitment
company with a specialist focus on the provision of contract and permanent staff into the banking, finance and insurance sectors, being held today at 11.30am, Alan Howarth, Non-Executive Chairman will make the following statement:

"Our first full year with RWP Recruitment Services fully integrated into Highams has started well.

Trading in our specialist areas of insurance and finance has remained positive
with the volume of new requirements for contract and permanent IT personnel
increasing month on month, with a corresponding increase in new placements made.

Since the start of the financial year, the effect of previously announced board
and management changes, together with the consolidation of our premises and the
full integration of our sales teams, has positioned us to realise the twin goals of a significantly enhanced sales capability and a substantial reduction in the Group's cost base.

I look forward to the Group's continued improved performance in the current
financial year and for the full benefits of the integration being reflected in
our results from April 2005.

We continue to seek and explore strategic opportunities and acquisitions for the future growth and development of the Group."

Back in July of last year the company said:

The Chairman Nigel Graham Maw, believes that now is an appropriate time for the
Company to seek his successor as Chairman. He has served the Company for over
seven years and, whilst not enjoying the best of health in recent months, is
delighted to have been part of the Highams team that has developed, and is
delivering on, their strategy. He therefore intends to stand down as Chairman as soon as an appropriate successor has been appointed.

Condolences to his family, but presumably the Chairman had been ill for some time. Assuming he hadn't been 100% then when a replacement is found that might give HSS a boost.

Currently no position, but watching for a re-entry point.

NB: judgung by recent trades, the "real" spread is about 5.70-6.80, which while still v.bad isn't quite as bad the the LSE quoted spread of 5.50-7.00

Nice buy today- hopefully if people to start to buy the stupid spread % will start to narrow, which in turn might entice a few more buyers.

this could do quite well, shame about the nms size.
untradeable really, you could accumulate the stock but disposing of it could be more trouble than it is worth.

Bought back in today - small holding and will be watching this for more closely. Think that macro market conditions for the sector are good but not sure if they will deliver. Will add if we see results being delivered.

Nice move up today on announcement. Shortages of skilled staff in the IT industry is causing problems recruiting permanent staff. Like the last paragraph in todays RNS

'Further sales staff are being recruited due to the very high level of client
demand experienced since early December. The Board anticipates that the effect
of these Board and management changes will result in material net cost savings
to the Group in the next financial year'.

HIGHAMS SYSTEMS SERVICES GROUP PLC

Chairman's AGM Statement

At the Annual General Meeting of Highams Systems Services Group plc to be held
later today in London, the Chairman Nigel Graham Maw will say:

"Trading is showing firm signs of an upturn in the IT market, with a marked
increase in sales activity in the last three months. As is usual in such an
upturn, demand for contract recruitment (with both long-standing and several new
financial sector clients) has led the way, with increased demand for permanent
recruitment now showing through as well. The results of this increased activity
will, in particular, benefit our second half performance.

Since completing the acquisition of RWP Recruitment Services Limited in mid
August, we have made rapid and very effective progress in the integration of the
sales management and back-office processes of our recruitment businesses.

We continue to seek and explore strategic acquisitions for the future growth and
development of the Group."

You forget that the management team are seen as the "Mugabe" of AIM
They look after themselves, sod the shareholders, just keep paying their salaries til the money runs out
