21/1/2018 12:39 | Clearly increasing the grade is going to be very beneficial. We do though have no idea how much 3.3% there is at Vermelho-all we have is 18 metres used as an example.Obviously the board have all previous drill data so they will have a very good idea.Anyway,we will have to wait, but I have a feeling that it will be worth waiting for when it comes :-) | strow
21/1/2018 11:49 | Good point jb I can't remember if the comment was made when the Ni price was especially low at the time. In any case the plan will be to maximize the impact to the market and the nickel price is an important factor. | salmonn1
21/1/2018 11:36 | Well with Nickel prices above 12k..it is the best time as any now. | jailbird
21/1/2018 11:28 | Thanks Raymund, hope I see you at this year's AGM and anyone else who can make it. Re release of the FS, the board have previously said that timing depends on market conditions. So publication might not be as soon as it is completed. However, I think it very unlikely to be later than the AGM. Re Glencore, HZM will surely have links due to the GAP deal which is likely to be helpful. | salmonn1
20/1/2018 01:00 | That's why cost of production is so important strow. If HZM's are low enough it can still sell into the market at a profit. I've just had another look at the latest company presentation. On page 28 it says of Vermelho, "potential for high grade saprolite resources - 18.1mt grading 3.31% Ni". Araguaia has an average Ni grade for the first ten years of 1.97% with a plant Ni ore throughput 0.9 Mtpa. And that's pretty competitive. If confirmed, Vermelho adds 18 years with an ore grade almost 60% higher when a second line is commissioned. Glencore have allocated over a $billion a year for acquisitions, for the next couple of years. Lets hope they or someone is looking at HZM. HZM as a FeNi asset has been lost a little bit with the battery nickel story but even leaving that to one side the GAP and Vermelho acquisitions make the company's saprolite resource pretty impressive on its own. | salmonn1

17/1/2018 09:20 | "#HZM due to deliver BFS on Tier 1 Araguaia shortly. Have a look at these NPV calculations and think where #nickel could be when they are producing given the backdrop of #ev and growing stainless market. The $1.3bn free cash flow is at $12k/t nickel, nickel today is higher!" | cf456

15/1/2018 12:30 | Spent the morning listening to the broadcasts I have highlighted above. Now after that one other comment on the Lithium broadcast pre-amble caught my attention. London metal week, all buzz, but the new kid on the block was Nickel. Now the above Ford announcement, & the other companies detailed. As we saw last week the EV revolution is now well under way. The projections are going to have to be re-written. However I completed the Cobalt number 2 broadcast, & drew the conclusion that the car companies can project that they will throw the cash at the problem, & they will need to soon, with what is happening in China. It is clear that they do not yet have a clue about the problem of supply they face, & are only just becoming aware of the nature of that probelm The situation is that the supply is in-elastic & problematical to say the least. It's more a case of where do you find the cobalt to buy in the first place? HZM can hang on for a while to that stockpile. The value is only going one way. As they say, if the nickel don't do it, the cobalt will. | haydock |
