Hi blueball;

I think we're on to a winner here; the chart looks superb; suggest you peruse the CWD thread back to 1815. High risk, but worth it.
I'm also in SFOR & JSE (low sulphur oil from politically stable NZ), both showing similar rising trend patterns.

CWD is showing a long shallow bowl, with a double bottom, followed by a sharp recovery. Elsewhere, other estate agents, Foxton's and Purple Bricks seem to have woken up.
My reading of the CWD Sharescope charts is that we are looking at a recovery play.

Forecasts are for around 15p earnings. Total dividend this year was about 12p. Its actually about time BOWL ended up on the sort of valuation that the larger corporates have when they are producing consistently good results and a cracking dividend.

Full year results out Friday, though whether the share price goes up or down will largely depend on the election result.

Hi mr fix.

Im not using a pre-set data mining filter .. (they just looked too fiddly)
(Like you I expected all the stuff pre-made and was disappointed as there
are very few on the software itself)

You have to make the columns up yourself.

No Filters .. Just Data …
Name - EPIC - Close etc.. Then, to get the bowl (which relies on a determined price action over time periods) add several columns to show Price xx months ago,
xx years ago etc. - the same could be done for moving averages - or

- whatever you like .. Just pull up a Column to show the Data you require..

Then in Share scope .. Select all that (Edit / Copy)
and Paste it all onto an open, empty Excel Spreadsheet.

From there you use the Excel Sort & Filter facility to extract the
instruments that meet the criteria you're looking for.

I used 5,3 & 1 Year Prices. - because I was looking for Long term value opportunities on stock that might be 'bombed out .. but had a good pattern & probability of rising. (so Cup & Handle - or Bowl) suited.

If I was looking for say something to spread bet short term, or Volatile
instruments at the High/Low ends of their range..
Then I'd use different criteria.. but the principle is the same.

Like You I'm using sharescope Gold .. Disappointingly,
It does not have the ability to then import the chosen shares
back in from Excel to form a specific Portfolio
(Hint to any developers out there) - especially if it could automatically
update the spreadsheet .. would be pant wettingly Good.

So the process requires a bit of manual input work .. but the results are
worth it (hopefully)

..Bear in mind.. This was just me tinkering about on a wet weekend
.. I'll try to develop other criteria & sheets for other pattern recognition
& Hone the input criteria a bit.

Possibly there is an automatic import/export system .. but I haven't found it.

Hope this helps..

Let us know how you get on & any discoveries made..

Where do you find the settings on ShareScope Gold? I signed up yesterday and couldn't find it under data mining. Cheers

Thanks for that..

Just what I found .. Using a setting for - Long Term Bowls
(5,3 & 1 Year settings … then transferring data & filtering out on a spreadsheet

Nice to have some confirmation from a Commercial financial setup though.

(Ariana Resources .. kicking off today .. breaking through a 200ma
- on monthly candles.. been a long term 'Bowl' that one..

has spent most of 2019 testing - breaking through & then back-testing 2p
..the lip of the bowl .. goes all the way back to 2013, so a breakthrough should be sustainable.
(There must be news somewhere behind it .. but charts often let it leak first)

Those are the settings I'm using...

The surprising thing I'm finding is that just in shares.. there are all forms of Instruments & sector indices that show the same formation..

Had no idea that those two bits of software, with a bit of forethought
& organisation, could be so powerful

.. Feel like I'm like a kid in a sweet-shop,

I'm screening for my SIPP .. So use Big Bars & Long Timeframes
(Like drawing with Big Thick Crayons... yes .. It may not pull off
the 'Artistic' moves … but it will draw nice thick lines that
are un-mistakable.. (Thus - hopefully Less Risk)

… Have to keep telling myself ... It's SIPP - Not a Ladbrooks.)

There are no doubt more out there that I've missed - Gfinity
.. forms a nice C&H on Daily Candles .. but on monthly
.. has yet to form a side so could be worth a punt short-term
but not for the SIPP yet.

Now .. Here's one Last Chart I'd like you all to have a look at ..
(Yes - I know I may have a reputation for being somewhat swivel eyed
on the Gold Thread … but .. before you cast assertions ..

Pull up (Preferably the LBM £) .. a Long term Gold Chart (go back to early 2000's)

...Use Monthly Bars …(8 weeks are preferable to screen out the 'Noise')

... Now

..... Tell me what you See ..

... Isn't that a Beauty !
