Hi mr fix.

Im not using a pre-set data mining filter .. (they just looked too fiddly)
(Like you I expected all the stuff pre-made and was disappointed as there
are very few on the software itself)

You have to make the columns up yourself.

No Filters .. Just Data …
Name - EPIC - Close etc.. Then, to get the bowl (which relies on a determined price action over time periods) add several columns to show Price xx months ago,
xx years ago etc. - the same could be done for moving averages - or

- whatever you like .. Just pull up a Column to show the Data you require..

Then in Share scope .. Select all that (Edit / Copy)
and Paste it all onto an open, empty Excel Spreadsheet.

From there you use the Excel Sort & Filter facility to extract the
instruments that meet the criteria you're looking for.

I used 5,3 & 1 Year Prices. - because I was looking for Long term value opportunities on stock that might be 'bombed out .. but had a good pattern & probability of rising. (so Cup & Handle - or Bowl) suited.

If I was looking for say something to spread bet short term, or Volatile
instruments at the High/Low ends of their range..
Then I'd use different criteria.. but the principle is the same.

Like You I'm using sharescope Gold .. Disappointingly,
It does not have the ability to then import the chosen shares
back in from Excel to form a specific Portfolio
(Hint to any developers out there) - especially if it could automatically
update the spreadsheet .. would be pant wettingly Good.

So the process requires a bit of manual input work .. but the results are
worth it (hopefully)

..Bear in mind.. This was just me tinkering about on a wet weekend
.. I'll try to develop other criteria & sheets for other pattern recognition
& Hone the input criteria a bit.

Possibly there is an automatic import/export system .. but I haven't found it.

Hope this helps..

Let us know how you get on & any discoveries made..

Where do you find the settings on ShareScope Gold? I signed up yesterday and couldn't find it under data mining. Cheers

Thanks for that..

Just what I found .. Using a setting for - Long Term Bowls
(5,3 & 1 Year settings … then transferring data & filtering out on a spreadsheet

Nice to have some confirmation from a Commercial financial setup though.

(Ariana Resources .. kicking off today .. breaking through a 200ma
- on monthly candles.. been a long term 'Bowl' that one..

has spent most of 2019 testing - breaking through & then back-testing 2p
..the lip of the bowl .. goes all the way back to 2013, so a breakthrough should be sustainable.
(There must be news somewhere behind it .. but charts often let it leak first)

Those are the settings I'm using...

The surprising thing I'm finding is that just in shares.. there are all forms of Instruments & sector indices that show the same formation..

Had no idea that those two bits of software, with a bit of forethought
& organisation, could be so powerful

.. Feel like I'm like a kid in a sweet-shop,

I'm screening for my SIPP .. So use Big Bars & Long Timeframes
(Like drawing with Big Thick Crayons... yes .. It may not pull off
the 'Artistic' moves … but it will draw nice thick lines that
are un-mistakable.. (Thus - hopefully Less Risk)

… Have to keep telling myself ... It's SIPP - Not a Ladbrooks.)

There are no doubt more out there that I've missed - Gfinity
.. forms a nice C&H on Daily Candles .. but on monthly
.. has yet to form a side so could be worth a punt short-term
but not for the SIPP yet.

Now .. Here's one Last Chart I'd like you all to have a look at ..
(Yes - I know I may have a reputation for being somewhat swivel eyed
on the Gold Thread … but .. before you cast assertions ..

Pull up (Preferably the LBM £) .. a Long term Gold Chart (go back to early 2000's)

...Use Monthly Bars …(8 weeks are preferable to screen out the 'Noise')

... Now

..... Tell me what you See ..

... Isn't that a Beauty !

Cheers for that! Interesting look at things. I think if you can get as many in your favour the better. Heavy volume, a chart pattern and I personally look for explosive growth e.g. revenue and profit increase 70% last quarter Vs quarter year ago. Investing.com has a good screener. Luna, Gan, Melrose and Ceres have been found with this.

Got myself a copy of Sharescope … over the week.

and had a play with some views &
exporting lists to Excel to then sort & filter.

Developing a filter for 'Bowls' .. & looking at
longer term ones - 5 to 3 years

DYOR as usual .. and apologies for not posting charts ..
(I have yet to learn or aquire that ability) .. so - DYOC too.

This - is what I found …

Penny shares with really Long Term 'Bowls'
- on the verge of potential Breakouts.

Ariana Resources.
China New Energy
Jubilee Metals
Petrel resources

Other Bowls below £1..

Ixico PLC.
Eckoh
(- Just now forming 'Handle'.. I like the look of the bowl
.. stretching all the way back to 2002..

Sylvania Platinum..
(Already spotted this one & Held from around 24p
.. when a smaller C&H Formed .. now mid 30's
… - But Just look where the Larger Bowl
(going back to 2008 .. would go … £1.50)

MTI Wireless Edge..
good C&H Formation. not come across this one before.

Iofina .. been rising steadily for the past 2 years
- look back to 2014 to see the bowl. - good potential if the trend continues..

SUB £1 Stocks..
[May have already broken away from Cup .. But still Racing and below £1]

ARGO
Baker Steel
Mac Farlane Group

AAZ..
This stock is already well covered & popular ..
so no need to mention any more here (- Hold this also ... What a Stormer ..)

Bowls - Above £1..

...
Cup & Handles..

Creightons - really nice formation on this chart
- and over 5 years too

Capital Drilling

Jadestone Energy .. Beginning to break out of the Bowl..

Genel Energy - Long & shallow C&H

'Bowls that have broken out - Above £1.00 that are showing Promise...

Spirent Communications
Arcontech Group
Retilit

Ceres Power Holdings ..
- really long term Bowl .. but rising steadily for the past 3 years
.. from 60p to now £2.00+ and no signs of slowing...
GB Group

Augean
(Have to admit been in this one since 50p -ish … but did not post here
... as you're never sure with these things ..
What a performer over the year - might have a pullback coming soon
.. but currently challenging £2.00 and likely to break through in 2020)

GAN Plc. - again .. been in this one since a small cup & handle
formed during the year - But this one still has a nice Bigger 'Bowl
formation going back to 2013. at around £1.70, - nowhere near it yet...

Luna Innovations.
- haven't come across this one previously - Nice long term Bowl formed
.. may pull back to form a Handle during the next year ..
.. if so - I intend to be all over this like a cheap suit..

Bowls .. That are forming .. in already Rising Stock.

(This was a surprising Group... as usually Bowl formations
are associated with 'Turnaround' Stocks .. but some already rising stocks
.. also form a Bowl.. and look ready for the next 'Push'.. upwards..

Notable ones are ..

Bloomsbury Publishing
BooHoo Group
Melrose Industries
RM PLC
Oxford Instruments Plc.

Finally .. The BIG Disappointment of this year ..

...Hurricane Energy..

Mentioned in previous posts … Had high hopes as a
Cup & then several handles of decreasing size had formed..
- all topping out at around 60p resistance...

Had expected an imminent breakthrough at the last 'bowl' formation
.. and had held enough to push the SIPP into 'Early Retirement' .. Nirvana..

HUR subsequently Flopped to 40p..

- Still watching, seems to have settled, so may dip back in for
another push at the resistance line during the next year..

So still has a place in the SIPP.

Not too worried .. quite often - once a strong resistance is broken
.. there is no need to re-test, once broken through
.. so a share will often just power on upwards.. ..

(The retesting often forms the 'Handle'.. of the C&H pattern)
- so hopefully HUR won't have to go through this .. as its already
been knocking at the resistance line for some time..

Anyway … Some food for thought there …

Let me know what you all think … feel free to post charts ..

.. These are simply what I'll be adding to the SIPP as I've found the
chart pattern to provide a high 'Balance of Probability'..
of an above average return as well as a good timing signal.

Skiboy108 Oct '19 - 13:30 - 909 of 910

It is worth remembering that whilst Ditau forms part of the KSZ project it is actually 70km east of the main 450 km long KSZ body and that the geological structures at Ditau (rare earths) and the main body of the KSZ (Norilsk) are totally different.

Skiboy108 Oct '19 - 13:39 - 910 of 910

This was from back in May 2018 pre-IPO before the AEM surveys which have clearly uncovered some very exciting targets.

"So you are pretty excited about the potential of this project Mike?"

"Oh absolutely yes. I think it is very exciting. Look it's not without its risk. There is obviously a chance that there is absolutely nothing there at all but it has all the right addresses. The similarity between the Norilsk type model and what we discovered to date would suggest to us there is a very good chance of discovering massive sulphide deposits. I think the other thing that's also good it that this is a huge huge body. It's a huge system and generally in geology the bigger the system the bigger the deposit is likely to be so we are very upbeat about it."

"Have you seen much interest externally in Kavango Resources?"

"There are a number of people who are watching us very closely. Some of the big companies have been very interested in what we are doing. We are not interested at this stage in doing a deal with a big company because we would not get value for it at this point in time. We need to identify a big deposit first and then I think we would be very keen to talk to some of the bigger companies. At the moment we are talking, we have been talking to some of the big companies who have shown some interest in us but we would prefer at this stage to keep going alone until we make a substantial discovery"

D2208 Oct '19 - 14:35 - 911 of 911

Hence MM's comments in the Poroactive interview on 234/9:
paraphrasing:
"... we only need one sniff of massive sulphide in any of these holes that we're planning to drill and I think we're away ..."

"... we've been approached by a number of big companies, who said 'First intersection, give us a call' ..."

SP Angel . Morning View .

Kavango Resources (KAV LN) 2.0p, Mkt Cap £3.1m – Kavango selects new targets for 1,000m drill campaign

Kavango Resources has signed a contract mobilising a number of drill rigs to test targets in Botswana.

The drill program is for three vertical holes covering 1,000m on the Kalahari Suture Zone ‘KSZ’

The team plan to intersect conductor targets at depths of between 200m and 400m.

To save time and cost, the holes will be pre-collared to approximately 150m with reverse circulation drilling followed by diamond core drilling for better information on the geology below this point.

Management are hoping to find mineralisation in a 10km x 6km magnetic anomaly, which is interpreted as a potential magma chamber.

The other two targets relate to significant linear magnetic and conductive structures.
Water will be trucked in from a local town.

Conclusion: Botswana hides many interesting mineral discoveries under a significant depth of Kalahari desert sand.

Kavango hopes the use of modern remote sensing techniques will help it pinpoint mineralisation in anomalies of significant scale under the sand.

While drilling these targets feels a bit like wildcatting in the oil industry investors can rest assured that target generation is supported by a thorough analysis of the latest data.

Excellent drilling RNS this a.m. from KAV

Michael Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Kavango Resources, commented:

"Following the CSAMT surveying of targets selected from the detailed modeling of the AEM data, Kavango has identified a number of drill targets, which we believe are highly attractive. These priority targets are now ready for drilling. The drilling company has been mobilized and within a short period of time we will be drilling on the KSZ. This has been an innovative and systematic mineral exploration programme in a very under-explored region of SW Botswana that we believe has excellent potential to host significant base metal deposits."

Geological models, plans of the drill targets and CSAMT X-sections are provided on the Company's website at www.kavangoresources.com and on Twitter at #KAV.

North Sea gas pioneer makes case for UK to maintain output

NORTH Sea-focused Cluff Natural Resources has said the UK must maximise the production of gas in its waters to minimise reliance on supplies from overseas amid efforts to tackle climate change.

The company’s chairman Mark Lappin noted the Committee on Climate Change had recognised oil and gas would account for the bulk of the country’s energy needs while efforts are made to reduce net carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
