Worth noting that the US Mint has stopped producing 2016 Silver Eagles and new stock will not be available before late January.

Worth listening to the following podcast. Wholesale prices to retailers have jumped on the news to US$2.75/oz (that infers retailers are having to pay c. US$19.32/oz per coin from Friday 18th). There would obviously then be a retail margin added for actual purchases by customers for coins.

It all makes a mockery of the futures generated spot price we see on Kitco, et al.
Chip

ps also some interesting comments about the Indian market in the podcast.

Chip, I see the situation with Comex as a game of chicken. In a real market, if the longs are holding for delivery the shorts would be FORCED to close if they cannot deliver. This of course would send the price rocketing. But in the rigged Comex they have infinite shorting potential as the US gov wants all funds put into the stockmarket, not PMs. Again, if a seller on Comex cannot deliver the goods they should face fines and bans.

This chap doesn't seem too phased by the current downtrend in PM's. As has been mentioned by many bulls before any further weakness is just more of a buying opportunity. Don't think everyone can be wrong, so I hope they aren't!

The bottom line is the major gold miners' fundamentals in just-reported Q3'16 were incredibly strong and bullish. Due to lower all-in sustaining costs and higher prevailing gold prices, this sector's cash flows generated from operations and actual accounting profitability exploded higher quarter-on-quarter. The fundamental transformation gold stocks have undergone in 2016 has been amazing, and it is only starting.

But unfortunately most investors and speculators today aren't paying attention to the gold miners' strong fundamentals. Instead they are all wrapped up in the fearful prevailing sentiment. That's a big mistake as always. While gold-mining operating profitability will decrease in Q4 if gold prices remain low, gold's young bull is far from over. When it starts powering higher again on weaker stock markets, gold stocks will soar.

I would post this on the gold BB if it weren't such a waste of time and effort over there. So since HOC specific as we need the gold price to be strong, I will post here instead. Will we see lower than 1200 or not? Next week should be very interesting as we near the end of November.

Following Thursday's smackdown of the PMs there was 685.8t of gold still standing for delivery in December against 64.8t held for delivery in the vaults.

There was 11,407t of silver still standing for delivery against 961t held for delivery in the vaults.

So, still likely to change significantly by the end of November!

Withdrawals from the vaults (so far) in November:
Gold 19.61t. (YTD 42.49t)
Silver 171.7t. (YTD 1,432t)

Total Open Interest (all futures contracts):
Gold 1,509.7t
Silver 26,990t

SG re: the dollar. The strength is there, just as it was with PM's recently, but it can't (surely?) keeping going up, just as with precious metals now. Timing is everything which is why you are a regular poster. We just have to wait for something to turn the $ and bring PM's back into favor. The current decline in PM's will mean that many will benefit when the turn occurs. Someone is benefitting from all this and with my long term buy and hold it isn't me. I should trade too! Wish I had the time to do that!

Boing are the number one supplier of Aircraft

Ultimately the customer will pick up the difference in air fares .

We are the fodder from which the Govt`s of all country`s reep their rewards which starts with initiating the first aeroplane and you thought precious metals were rigged

Think again !

With your trading successes, I am surprised you haven't bought a private 787 from Boeing. A Chinese airline bought a few recently. They might not buy any more if the US imposes tariffs on Chinese goods.

The US used to build all its own cars , No one else bought them but they thrived on feeding their own economy .Thier customer base is so large they should self furfill with the right leadership .

Posting from the bar so spilling may go a miss

Why export if you can supply your own economy within your own currency

Do you think Donald is really going to do that? Exporters would be screwed, not least because of a trade war. There is also the ghost of Smoot-Hawley, which is not to be taken lightly.

Donald

The Dollar is up ?

He wants to create full employment for the US

Bringing back manufacturing from licensed China producers

If you build or manufacture everything in the US do you really care how strong the Dollar becomes ?

On other hand, I don't know how US exporters can handle an even stronger dollar. Ask Procter and Gamble - over the Autumn it's been smashed almost as much as the PMs.

Why sell out to a potential bottom and spin other investors with "topped up again" posts

You just sold and are already bullish on a rate move .

The most strange trading pattern i have ever seen !

Thanks FEB 30 , makes my time scale look realistic with the 9 weeks from when ever i posted

Look at the last rise in PM`s and it also pointed to early January

Will we get a repeat performance ?

The floor in silver might an interest rate rise next month - as interest rate rises tend to be bullish for PMs. Having said that, a US interest rate rise would probably push the dollar to parity with the Euro, and that's not going to be great for US exporters.

pixi for heaven sake! secure your pension or park 100K at least in an annuity or whatever. You are playing with cash you cannot afford to lose.

I cannot say how much an annuity is assisting me now - all my bills are covered for life. ( well, unless we go to hyperinflation in which case its PM's)
