No worries here,

Fanstastic result in my opinion and still undervalued.

As for the price falling away !!!!

5p does not really make much difference.

I was hoping they will announce ZINKINVEST takeover , still doing their due diligence I expect.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Just found this thread - Can't believe how quiet it is.
I am a not a large holder of HILS. I'm probably in for the longer term, although I could be tempted to trade out/in if the swing looked big enough.
A glance at the chart suggests HILS share price is largely results driven.
For the last 5yrs there has frequently tended to be a pause for results then a short rise, maybe only 40p, then a pause, etc.
Looking forward to tomorrows results, as the recent chart suggests a pennant has just completed, and an share price uptick has already begun.
Time will tell.

While reading message boards a while back I found a gem. A newsletter that is dedicated to profiling little known issues. The list is 100% double opt-in to ensure that the members are truly looking for a lead.

It is certainly worth a few minutes of your time to take a look. All it takes is a click and your email.

standish - thanks for that.

Mind you, I hope the 'in-depth research' provided on Mr Burns seminar amounted to a lot more than the following comment from his website - even by Burns standards this is superficial to say the least.....'makes bollards' indeed!

Still, he has a good record, so here's hoping he's right this time.

It makes bollards and other road equipment and their services are in demand. They are also expanding into other areas by buying up other companies.

The management looks sounds and this company is going places. Some institutional interest could see the shares rocket.

At Robbie Burns' seminar on Friday of last week Hill & Smith was one of eight companies researched in depth and was ultimately selected as the share most likely to rise by at least 20% in the near future.Robbie reckons the shares could even go to 350p and has topped up his holding today. There is clearly a following wind helping this share and 300p is in prospect in short order.

Hi penpont,

If they make the european acquisition which I think is very lickely the shares will ROCKET.

Mid 250 then.

Impressive results.
umm - another hv/hvs thread.
I do like the way that guy sticks with these companies for years rather than months.

We may have to wait for upgrades, though this seems a bit of a slow burner anyway. Don't mind that myself, always room in the portfolio for a slow and steady one.

Given the rate of eps growth lately and the effect of aquisitions now kicking in I'd say that when the new forecasts come up for this and next year we may see something like 21 and 24p - don't think that's being too ambitious. And the divi should rise to say 7 and then 8p min over that period.

On a fairly modest 12x forward earnings for 2007 that seems to make your 300p look well achievable hvs.

Very good results, eps closer to the expected numbers for the current year - these will have to be upgraded to at least 20p eps I'd imagine.

Maybe someone knows up and coming results will be ahead of expectations.

HILS seem to have a habit of having recurrent upgrades over the past couple of years and I suspect we haven't seen the last of this trend.

why the rise? I know it's a decent company with good prospects but this rise can't just be down to the recent acquisition, or is it?
