If you want to know what is going on then just read the steady flow of press releases. Basically the latest £1.25 million from the warrants just exercised will enable HNR to

"Not only does this increase the Company's size and liquidity, which in turn should enhance our appeal to a wider investor audience, but we now have the funds to accelerate Highlands' core projects, including the deployment of DT Ultravert, the development of Helios Two and our drilling programme in our Colorado acreage."

So everything is on track.

You are right. Most of us can't figure out what is going on. Is this dilution of the share price and will the price rise or fall heavily on Monday? This is disbelief before acceptable of the the impact. It seems to me that the internal dynamics between DT and HNR is enriching a few whilst the rest of the pi are hoping that hope itself is the only strategy left for pi now

In case anyone is querying what is meant by "including the deployment of DT Ultravert" there is an explanation on LSE Shares by someone who worked in new technology deployments in the oil industry.

"the term deployment would include field testing and cannot, in my opinion, be used to infer that the testing has been completed. Deployment is the process of taking something from a development project to a commercial offering."

I am amazed that last night's rns has received so little discussion here given the potential implications and additional funding. There have literally been hundreds of posts on LSE Shares since yesterday's rns discussing deployment, the implications of the exercise of warrants, the likely value value, VWAP etc.

Another 5 million warrants exercised by the institutional investor who purchased them from Diversion so bringing in another £1.25 million cash to HNR:

2 September 2016
Highlands Natural Resources plc ('Highlands' or 'the Company')
Issue of Shares and Disposal of Warrants

Highlands, the London listed natural resources company, announces that it has issued an additional 5,000,000 ordinary shares in the Company (the 'New Ordinary Shares') pursuant to the exercise of warrants. The warrants exercised are part of those acquired by an institutional investor (the "Institutional Investor") from Diversion Technologies, LLC ('Diversion'), as announced on 15 June 2016, and which are exercisable into ordinary shares in Highlands at 25 pence per share. Accordingly, as anticipated following that sale, this exercise is a significant event for Highlands and has resulted in the receipt of further new funds of GBP1.25 million (taking the total new funds received as part of these transactions to GBP2.50 million).

An application will be made for the New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority by way of a Standard Listing and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market for listed securities ('Admission') and it is expected that Admission will take place on 9 September 2016.

Following the issue of the New Ordinary Shares, the total number of ordinary shares in Highlands with voting rights will be 44,237,349. This figure may be used by Highlands' shareholders as the denominator for calculations to determine if they have a notifiable interest in Highlands under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, or if such interest has changed.

Disposal of Warrants

Highlands is also pleased to announce that it has been notified by Diversion that Diversion has today sold a further 10 million warrants (the "Warrants") in Highlands to the Institutional Investor. The terms of the potential sale that were announced in June 2016 have been altered such that the Institutional Investor has agreed to pay Diversion an initial consideration of 1 pence per warrant and a deferred consideration equal to one half of the excess of the volume weighted average price ('VWAP') over 30 pence per Highlands share. The VWAP, for the purposes of this agreement is defined as the volume weighted average price of Highlands shares from the date of sale through to the time of exercise of the Warrants by the Institutional Investor. In the event that the Institutional Investor exercises only part of the Warrants, then the VWAP for the next exercise will be the volume weighted average price of Highlands shares as of the date of last exercise through to the date of the next exercise.

In addition, and as part of the terms of this agreement, the Institutional Investor has granted Highlands the right to insist that the Institutional Investor exercises each week such number of Warrants equal to not less than 15% of the aggregate number of Highlands shares that trade during the previous five trading days at a price equal to or higher than 30 pence per Highlands share. This is a significant benefit to Highlands and its shareholders as, subject to its share price and volume, it provides good visibility on the exercise of the Warrants and the consequent receipt of new funds of GBP2.50 million (taking the total new funds received as part of these transactions to GBP5 million).

Disclosure of notifiable interests

Due to the issue of the above New Ordinary Shares, although the number of ordinary shares held by Mr R B Price, CEO of Highlands, has not changed, with effect from Admission his holding represents 27.1% of the Company's total voting rights.

Mr Price has a beneficial interest in the Warrants as a 37.5% shareholder in Diversion.

Highlands CEO Robert Price said, "This further sale by Diversion increases the potential new funds for Highlands to GBP5 million, half of which has now been realised as a result of today's warrant exercise. Not only does this increase the Company's size and liquidity, which in turn should enhance our appeal to a wider investor audience, but we now have the funds to accelerate Highlands' core projects, including the deployment of DT Ultravert, the development of Helios Two and our drilling programme in our Colorado acreage."

Helium auction brings in $43 million
Posted: July 28, 2016 - 7:25pm | Updated: July 28, 2016 - 9:26pm
Globe-News staff

The Bureau of Land Management’s third annual helium auction generated nearly $43 million dollars in revenue, the agency reported.

BLM offered for auction a total of 400 million cubic feet (MMcf) of helium from the Federal Helium Reserve near Amarillo, almost 40 percent of the total volume the BLM will make available from the Reserve in Fiscal Year 2017. In 2015, the auction grossed $28 million.

For this auction there were 24 lots ranging from 5-25 MMcf, the agency said, and bids from diverse companies around the world varied from $105 to $110 per thousand cubic feet.

All told, this auction generated a total of $42,840,000 in revenue.

“As was the case in our two previous auctions, this year’s auction was again successful in achieving a key objective of the Act, to maximize the value of Federal helium through a market-driven process,” BLM Amarillo Field Office Manager Robert B. Jolley said.

Jolley was referring to the Helium Stewardship Act of 2013. It seeks to mitigate a helium shortage by enabling the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the BLM, to continue to sell crude helium from the Federal Helium Reserve.

FY16 Helium Auction Yields $28.54 Million

Amarillo, TX – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) conducted its second annual auction of Federal helium at the Amarillo Field Office, under the terms of the Helium Stewardship Act (Act) of 2013. A total of 300 MMcf from the Federal Helium Reserve near Amarillo was offered, representing 25 percent of the total volume the BLM will make available from the Reserve in Fiscal Year 2016.

The helium was offered in 18 lots ranging from 5-25 MMcf to a diverse array of companies from around the world. Bids ranged from $100 to $106 per Mcf, generating a total of $28,545,000 in revenue (one lot of 25 MMcf went unsold). This revenue is part of nearly $120 million the Helium Program will remit to the U.S. Treasury this year.

"This year's auction was again successful in achieving a key objective of the Act, to maximize the value of Federal helium through a market-driven process," said Robert B. Jolley, BLM Amarillo Field Office Manager. "This, in turn, is expected to incentivize private producers to develop other sources of helium - domestically and internationally - to supply the market when the Federal Helium Reserve is fully drawn down."

Passed by Congress in 2013, the Act established an auction system for the sale of Federal helium and mandated that all property, equipment, and interest held by the United States in the Federal Helium Reserve be disposed of by September 30, 2021. The BLM’s implementation plan provides for an orderly transition to a privatized system, while also ensuring that Federal end users of helium continue to have a reliable supply of the gas.

Field testing in the Piceance Basin is being coordinated between Schlumberger and the operator. As soon as final testing dates are confirmed (before or during September), we will provide the market with a detailed update.I am with Turkey on this, surely by now they will know if testing is as per the agreement, to begin this month.AGM in 18 days, the BOD will want some positives to take into his, otherwise it may get a bit frosty to say the least.Off Topic No OpinionReply to postReport post

"the last [helium] auction price was $104/Mcf but international and private sales can command double that price. Demand continues to grow and the Federal Helium Reserve’s resources are expected to be significantly depleted if not exhausted by 2020, meaning that the requirement to develop new fields into production is strong and the helium price in the US can reasonably be expected to increase steadily to at least double the current price.”

I don't think the market has yet picked up on the fact the US federal helium reserve is to be decommissioned by 2021 (historically supplied 30% of the world's helium) so helium prices should continue to rise and HNR could help fill the gap with Helios Two.

I had a good run on PANR but now think the potential upside from HNR looks better.

HNR's market capitalisation is just £15m at 37p so it is good value and the coming news could be transformational. Only a small free float so can move fast.

The CEO holds 12 million shares (30%) and is not drawing a salary, so he has a direct interest in seeing the share price up.

The rise has started ahead of drilling Helios Two mid September and Schlumberger trialling the DT Ultravert re-frack system some time this month. A few weak holders sold out but this could be a couple of quid on promising results in the coming weeks.
