10/4/2018 09:00 | Looks like it is going to hold. | 11_percent
10/4/2018 08:27 | That does not bode well then? | montyhedge
10/4/2018 07:54 | Morning all Poly moving nicely higher, dyor. Edit; not now. | srpactive
09/4/2018 23:44 | The gold price expressed in roubles is not static. A weaker rouble means higher rouble/oz. I really think rouble currency fluctuation has little bearing on the day-to-day SP, especially compared to the greater force of general market sentiment for gold miners on the shareprice which regularly completely ignores chunky POG rises. It certainly isn't a trigger for II who work on more macro and portfolio wide KPIs (and of course RNS news) | casual47
09/4/2018 22:23 | logan - overall not good for HGM then | justiceforthemany
09/4/2018 20:07 | justice - All gold in Russia has to be sold to certain banks in Russia in roubles then 75% of this gold is purchased by the Russian Central Bank in roubles. HGM's biggest mine their Novoshirokinskoye mine was originally opened as a Zinc, Lead mine with commercial amounts of Gold and Silver. The Zinc and Lead mined is sold in US$. Up to 80% of the production costs of HGM are in roubles and our dividends are paid in Sterling. | loganair
09/4/2018 19:32 | C Well if the Chinese have wanted a slice of the Russia market they certainly have their chance now, dyor. I bought a few more earlier at just under 142p. Gold rising as talk of Syria situation worsens, gold and gambling is my financial my home at this time, dyor. active jftm I think it will help mining costs would it not? | srpactive
09/4/2018 19:28 | Would a depreciated rouble help rather than hinder HGM as most gold is exported I would think? | justiceforthemany
09/4/2018 19:22 | No. HGM being dragged down along with other gold miners. Pretty much ALL the share price movements since the last RNS have been as per the wider gold miners market. | casual47
09/4/2018 19:12 | from today's Telegraph, "Shares in other companies linked to Russia but not under sanctions also sank in afternoon trade, with steelmaker Evraz falling 18pc and gold miners Polymetal and Polyus falling 14pc and 16pc respectively."No sanctions affecting hgm, just being dragged down with other Russian companies. Hopefully share price will bounce soon! | coxsmn
09/4/2018 18:09 | Or lots of money between fingers. | srpactive
09/4/2018 17:10 | I have a core HGM holding in my SIPP just trundling along and a trading amount elsewhere.I too bought some trading stock at 147.5 ish. Should have waiting another hour or two.Oh well, you know what they say - people who try and pick bottoms often get smelly fingers! | haughtonhoney
09/4/2018 16:46 | I'm like you, hold my stocks for many years. One stock, Youngs the Brewery was held in my family for 100 years...I think that's called long term investing. About once every 3 years I sell a couple of my stocks, at the moment I have 3 stocks in my portfolio that are on my radar to sell. | loganair
09/4/2018 16:38 | W I am a stick in the mud so hold for years and years maybe instead of selling and then buying back, but there we are. | srpactive
09/4/2018 16:27 | Active, I've always done very well with HGM in the past, my main failing is that I usually take profits a little too early... but there are worse failings!! Here's hoping my luck holds. | woodhawk
09/4/2018 15:04 | w Yes results due soon, dyor. And I am also here for the long term too. Edit W You must be positive as you are right on timing more often than not, dyor. The active has followed the Woodhawk, dyor. | srpactive
09/4/2018 15:02 | Plus, this is the first time for years the gold price has been above 1300 for an entire quarter- so expect good quarterly results from hgm and other goldies later this year- and also, general view is gold will not drop below 1300 in 2018 and indeed rise to circa 1450... patience here although I agree this is irritating for us constant stock checkers! | stevedaytrader
09/4/2018 14:59 | No need to rush in, this as spooked the market. | montyhedge
09/4/2018 14:58 | News? I'm just here for the next ride up and the soon-come divi too. | woodhawk
09/4/2018 14:55 | W Okay, news very soon I would think, dyor. active | srpactive
09/4/2018 14:51 | Casual- cey got the court case still, rrs got hammered unfairly imho on Congo- hold here I agree ace fundamentals and gain ace divi | stevedaytrader
09/4/2018 14:47 | HGM is strong fundamentally and is generating a lot of cash, is good enough for me. | loganair
09/4/2018 14:42 | Also had a top up. Let's hope the politics blows over quickly and progress resumes. Cheap at this price | danboris2
09/4/2018 14:40 | Added a few more at 143p, Active. | woodhawk |
