Russian stocks, ruble jump after report Trump halted further sanctions

Russian stocks, ruble jump after Trump reportedly overturns U.S. effort to place further sanctions on Russia.
The Washington Post reported that Trump told advisers he was upset about sanctions being officially rolled out because he was not yet comfortable with them.
The U.S. is now likely to hold back on any further sanctions until Russia does something provocative, the report says
The Russian stock market is down 12 percent since the last round of sanctions were announced April 6.

Revised dividend policy was 20% of net cashflow - what sort of final dividend are people expecting tomorrow?

I've made more from GVC than any other share, but of late I've lost my way there a little, so concentrating my efforts more profitably elsewhere at the moment. HGM, GSK and LGEN have all been consistently good for me.

yep, I write out big cheques for Her Majesties Revenue- They get a chuck of the action, I guess that's the downside (but thats the price we pay to live in what we regard as a civilised country) where we can walk freely (normally) in the streets and the law of contract hold true most of the time).

Shay,Are you a UK resident. If so what about the tax element on your Divis ?

Gary you are right about the percentage, although I seldom get too concerned, I would say I have approximately 40%+ in gold miners, at one point I held 1.3million+ in cey until I reduced it down by 500k last year, have collected quite a hefty divi, I'm slowly increasing that possibly back up to that original amount. My best consistent stock has been GVC, which I have 200k+ again a good divi stock- The slow coach has been 888, which I bought at 35p sold at 55p to increase my sbt holding and then some bought back at just over £1 which has been paying okay divi. I have been very lucky. ( Always have the poem 'IF' in mind, by Kipling).

Shay.I beat you there then.First buy HGM at 32.99p.My 47,000 shares now average me around 71p.CEY, I purchased at 134p,but recently sold out,to buy more HGM at 137.1p,for the forthcoming dividend and expected growth.Woody trading HGM is now between under 140p,and 160p seems the norm atm, after the 180p sell off,for no apparent reason,by all accounts ! Shay, out of interest. What % of your Folio is invested in Gold Miners eg CEY,and HGM.I am guessing it would be way over 10% ?

I'm with you Shay and Gary - I'm not a buy-and-hold merchant, but I've always done well trading HGM over the past three years - and appreciate the nice fat divi if times get temporarily tough on the share price front.

Shay,Only if you buy in too high eg 150-160p,buy 140p,and under no problem.
