12/12/2008 14:38 | Halifax bad loans is no news: long ago I posted about how effectively non-status loans were going through as status and at status rates, so that bad debts would grow whilst the rate charged would not cover for the risk. The only way to hold this stock is buy when its down and sell on the up. The deal will go through, then the same will apply to the merged group. | andrewbaker
12/12/2008 14:35 | surely - it is better to by hbos shares than lloy- due to the ratio ? | mova

12/12/2008 14:05 | Just wish you could short banking stocks - 100% guaranteed profit if you could short LLOY at 130 and long HBOS at 70. Why oh why have they not aligned now that the deal is effectively done. | future financier
12/12/2008 14:02 | I don't think this will change much this afternoon and if anything go up. News on further writedowns is out. Auto bail out rejection known, currently down just under 20%, DOW Futures known, all the bad news is out and factored into the price as we see it and in my opinion why the price will now gradually go up, dragged up by Lloyds. | spennysimmo
12/12/2008 13:59 | Would rather it no fallen but got more at 69.8p, | scubasi

12/12/2008 13:56 | Bailout failure knocks European shares edit. mova, i want 130 right now. Why has it not moved yet? :() | k38
12/12/2008 13:55 | why has the share price not moved to 0.605 ? | mova
12/12/2008 13:54 | Well I am now long @70p....Come on the DOW be good to us. | chesty1
12/12/2008 13:50 | arja None of that, until now it was uncertanty of the merger, todays market plus waiting for Dow to open is holding us back. | k38
12/12/2008 13:49 | Even the last rns talks about preliminery votes but says they will be going ahead with merger ? LLOY needed bailout money too so some relief should be shown there too. | debbiegee
12/12/2008 13:47 | RNS has been released | porridge3
12/12/2008 13:36 | new to this thread but can someone tell me why HBOS trades at a discount to merger terms ( .605 I think ) ? Maybe merger not yet a done deal or LLoyds share price due for severe correction after merger ?? | arja
12/12/2008 13:32 | SKY reported bbc not reporting and no rns, only preliminery results ? | debbiegee
12/12/2008 13:20 | FFS. Let the body get cold | burned

12/12/2008 13:16 | Can not see financials falling much lower today, 20% drops all round will not increase even if we get a big potential fall on the Dow. | keya5000 |
