In theory yes, but if you look at TLWs chart they have dropped from 330 to 235 in a period of stable oil prices.

The cynic in me thinks those in the know have been forward selling, knowing that the RI was coming.

Be interesting to see if TLW holds above the theoretically 'correct' price of £2.

Many people have said that it was stupid the difference if TLWs and PMOs mcap was...maybe some chickens have come to roost

I wouldnt be surprised to see a PMO fund-raising but only when the mcap is a good deal higher. TLWs capitalisation probably made a rights issue more doable.

Forgive my ignorance but if an additional 500m shares are about to be issued and hit the market whose purchase price is 130p then will there not be a big sell pressure as purchasers at 130p take some profits?

Bit early in the morning for maths, but I make the theoretical ex-rights price for TLW around £2 or 15% less than yesterdays close.

Interesting take Mike. It will all come out in the wash eventually -perhaps the key question now is, to use your analogy, has Tony paid in full or do PMO still have payments pending?

Maybe TLW's lenders werent so agreeable to repeated covenant extensions as PMO's were and our refinancing wasnt such a bad deal.

The pretty eye-watering discount on their rights issue suggests you really have to offer a pound of flesh to get these deals away. Maybe succumbing to weeks of shorting was the price we had to pay?

...a taste of what's to come for PMO over at TLW this morning? Malcy's ominous blog posts might agree with that.

When Brent was last at $50, Premier Oil was at 130. However, Brent seems to be falling and could push down over the next few days. Three questions for anyone who is interested; 1. What effect do you think the falling oil price could have on Premier between now and results on the 22nd? 2.What do you think the results will be? and 3. How do you think they will affect the share price immediately and going forward into Spring?

66.2 on 18.4 MM yesterday gives us an average to date of 61.98

Pretty much bang on the target the CBH's are after.

Obviously now the price will need to be "held" at this for the remainder of the period.... or if it stays higher for a few days then perhaps they'll be bargain opportunities in the closing day or two.

Yet again the share price appears to be held back by the MMs. Tons of buys but they are making little difference to the share price
