Looks like 2024 fcf missed by around 300m while projected 2025 fcf of 1bn is a fall on the 1.7bn fcf average over last 3 years for the wintershal portfolio. |
Shocking company run by shockingly bad management. Stop kidding yourselves otherwise. |
Doing some (admittedly noddy) maths, I have 2025 production costs at $2.3b, CAPEX of $2,6b and FCF of $1b for a total income of $6b ($6.1b in 2024).
Assuming 450kboepd that's a realised price of $38 per barrel.
Each $5 on the price of a barrel adds $115m of FCF. So if they get $68 per barrel then the FCF is $1.7b per annum. |
GS has been a broker to BP since 2022 according to the FT. I think BP would be interested in Harbour assets?? |
Well they’ve tended to be the bidder rather than the bidee. The Wintershall acquisition was more of a merger I suppose. Who would be the most likely acquirer of HBR and would they wait for the disposal of the NS assets first? |
£3.40 to get. Would do me |
Harbour is absolutely a takeover target and could be in the process of talking to a suitor. Mentioned my reasoning for this last year. There are a number of subtle changes in company emphasis. I wonder if these changes are to acquiesce with a potential suitor. I’m tempted to wonder if Goldman act as a broker for any big mining firms in America? Speculation speculation.. |
I noticed that GS issued a 'Buy' note on Harbour in August 2022 for 609p. Given the timeframes that these, so called, professionsals say that your investment window should be, it beggars belief that the majority of brokers change their views like the wind changes direction. How are you ever supposed to take them seriously if they can reverse their advice within a medium-term investment window? |
Note how each time over the past year the HBR share price has fallen to the current level, it has bounced each time. So now looks a good entry point, both for a trading buy and for long term holding. |
Down here I'd think it could be susceptible to a takeover. A very wild move from the highs of 285p back to here. |
I doubt Harbour would be a target. Could be wrong. |
What price would be acceptable though? |
Sitting duck for a takeover? |
It will be interesting to see if Carlos increases his shareholding here |

We really didn't. Nowhere near. Just had to start upna few ccgt plants and pay a premium to do so. |
Nigel, we came pretty close last week or at least came close to not being able to meet full demand anyway. |
BTW we still have a higher high, higher low on the chart. |
NG been putting out an advert for ‘bad weather events’ suggesting that vulnerable people register for priority power supply.
‘Bad weather events’ .. 🤔 |
Not much chance of a blackout though is there? With a pretty ready supply of LNG tankers to the UK - it's highly unlikely to happen. |

Barclays Sticks to Its Buy Rating for Harbour Energy (HBR)
In a report released today, Lydia Rainforth from Barclays maintained a Buy rating on Harbour Energy (HBR – Research Report), with a price target of £3.80. |
Kibes, personally I think it is going to take a blackout to bring people / politicians to their senses and understand the gravity of the situation and the path Milliband is taking is down. |
Carlos Slim doesn’t buy stakes for the fun of it. The madness of the last few days is a golden opportunity |
