10/1/2017 22:31 | grahamburn 'as there would have had to holdings RNS's for each percentage level crossed from 6% to 10%.' Don't think the same rules apply to institutional holdings, but what they are exactly I can't find out. What is really weird is that the Standard Life holdings is exactly 10% of the company, namely 29,326,823 shares out of a total 293,268,229 shares in issue! | mylands
10/1/2017 21:04 | Didn't Standard Life takeover another large FI? Perhaps it's the combined shareholding? | maddox
10/1/2017 20:32 | The 17m+ holding (or 5.9%) is also confirmed by the Morningstar data. However, the earlier comments about yesterday's purchase of 175k taking them over the 10% does make any sense, as there would have had to holdings RNS's for each percentage level crossed from 6% to 10%. So, something slightly strange here. | grahamburn
10/1/2017 19:47 | divi Don't think the website is incorrect. Standard Life have held just over 17 million shares ever since GVC acquired BPTY in Feb 2016. Since then, each time the list of major holders has been updated they are shown as holding around 17 million and that includes today. It's quite clear from the RNS that they added 175k to take them over 10%, requiring the RNS and it's also clear that they now hold 29 million, an increase of 12 million. Someone has offloaded their holding to Standard Life, maybe we will get another RNS tomorrow showing that one, or more, of the other major holders has reduced their holding. | mylands
10/1/2017 19:25 | I dont think 12million shares have been acquired. Far too much volume to not force the price up. RNS just looks like a small purchase pushing them up to 10%. Website incorrect? | diviincomesearch
10/1/2017 19:03 | Very strange the latest RNS about Standard Life going over 10% by increasing their stake from 29,151 million to 29,326 million, when the latest list of largest shareholders, dated TODAY on the Company's website, shows them with 17.167 million (5.89%). The only conclusion I can come to is that today they have added 12 million shares, that's 4% of the company and must include the 175k that took them over 10% to necessitate an RNS. Any other views? | mylands
10/1/2017 18:10 | Holdings RNS's, London buses, you wait ages for them.... they are badly overdue, and several come at once! | festario
10/1/2017 16:44 | Kenny has a superb habit of keeping his options open and dropping in a Trading Update (or other news), when the share price is stagnant. Hence why there is nothing on the GVC website event calendar. We could see an RNS at any time. | festario
10/1/2017 16:21 | Shay Not so sure about the TU being imminent. There is no mention on the website event calendar of an update in January. The next event diarised is for March 23rd, the Preliminary Results. Also, Norbert's dealings must preclude any announcement for the next 30 days, if I understand the rules governing the close period for directors' dealings. | mylands
10/1/2017 15:47 | I added @6.31, We are due for a trading update shortly | shayadfn
10/1/2017 15:33 | I wish I had the dividend available now, to buy more at 635pOr any spare funds really. | festario
10/1/2017 13:48 | Yes, quite possibly, he did not do bpty shareholders ( myself one ), any favours whatsoever. Actually seeing the amount he is making out of this takeover is outrageous, more profit for failure. regards active | srpactive
10/1/2017 13:33 | Maybe he is selling the lot ! Am sure GVC would like him to be on his way | frankiethecabbie
10/1/2017 08:46 | who cares if your international investments keep rising. Dollar earners are the perfect hedge for holiday price risers I estimate I make £100 for every £1 I have to pay extra for holidays. | slogsweep
10/1/2017 08:03 | The perverse, IMO, connection between Sterling's depreciation and the Footsie scaling daily highs is truly amazing. At some point reality will have to sink in when investors take on board how poorly the UK is actually performing, an indication being the profit warnings now being issued from big UK companies (eg Bovis, Next and WMH!) and that's before Brexit takes its grim hold on the UK economy. It seems it won't be long before we are down below $1.20/£ and Euro1.10/£. Expensive holidays abroad from now on! | mylands
10/1/2017 07:06 | I would imagine the TU isn't coming out any day soon, as if it was they would be in a closed period, where no trades are allowed.Directors are both selling and exercising options in the 645p range - that doesn't sit well with me. Gap fill then upwards hopefully. | ballychan
09/1/2017 22:18 | mylands..looks like the 800k sale went through a broker (Shore Capital) whilst the 500k transaction was conducted 'off market'.I can only assume it means he sold the shares privately. | nurdin
09/1/2017 22:05 | Was quite amused earlier over the chatter about CapitalCube - a sort of poor man's SharePad or Stockopeadia. . . . Yes, the so called analysis is bullet point listed from a pre-loaded database of responses to metrics supplied from stockmarket data. There is no "human analyst" behind it. However it's no planned attack on GVC either. . . . . Couldn't get the site by phone, only the standard free "analysis" on other pages where they stated 546p or thereabouts as a fair price with a fair range of 546p - 601p and concluded it was currently "overvalued" then went on about poor asset value in comparison to it's peers. And that offered a clue as to where they were coming from - and indeed now I'm on the desktop and got the "analysis" in question they too go on about in "comparison to peers" . . . . So Googled my suspicions and there was one review of CapitalCube which detailed their unique "special edge". . . . They don't use fundamentals per se nor technicals directly to shares - but instead do their thing - which is to base all their evaluation on how a stock compares TO IT'S PEERS. LOL! That's all it is. That's how they "analyse". . . . Whilst it's okay to compare to peers it's nuts to make an investing decision based solely on one aspect of metrics alone. And they want you to pay for more info LOL! . . . So not an analyst's opinion just a cobbling together of pre-written responses to a share's metrics in comparison to it's peers - that's all. In other words, yes a bot database of pre-written responses for any occasion. I think a distinction should be made when highlighting and posting of some living breathing human analyst opinion in a newspaper or magazine/blog offering an opinion and a pre-configured database responding to metric inputs. | velod
09/1/2017 21:45 | Looking at the RNS there are two transactions (800k and 500k) both done on 5th Jan and at the same price, 644.528p. Why they are shown separately I do not know. He has vitually halved his holding down from 2.755 million to 1.455 million, raising £8.372 million, plus he is entitled to the div as they went ex on the 4th Jan, amounting to a further £162.5k. Looking on the positive side his shares have been taken up without it seems much difficulty. Checked back and he sold 460k on 9th Feb 2016 at 490p. | mylands
09/1/2017 20:40 | Check back Nurdin - last time Norbert sold a large bunch, he would have done massively better if he'd just waited a few weeks. | woodhawk
09/1/2017 19:53 | Thinking about it,if he is party to any forthcoming news from the company, then it can only be good to neutral news otherwise he could be accused of insider trading! Logical I think :o) | nurdin
09/1/2017 19:27 | He also sold a hefty chunk before the last major rises I think. | woodhawk
09/1/2017 19:25 | Nevertheless he has sold a few days ahead of the TU.Not sure one can read anything into it though. | nurdin |
