London-listed gaming operator GVC Holdings has appointed former BBC journalist Tessa Curtis to the newly created role of head of media relations.

Curtis will join GVC on September 1 to lead the operator’s corporate communications in the UK and internationally, and will report to group corporate affairs director Grainne Hurst and director of investor relations David Lloyd-Seed.

She previously served as city correspondent for the Daily Telegraph and business correspondent for the BBC, before joining public relations firm Weber Shandwick as managing director. Curtis joins the operator from her own consulting firm, Tessa Curtis Associates, which was established in 2003.

“I am delighted to be coming on board at such an exciting point in GVC’s extraordinary growth, with a new leadership team and a clearly defined set of strategic priorities in place,” Curtis said of her appointment. “GVC has a vibrant business at the intersection of international growth in e-commerce, sports and entertainment and is fully committed to the very highest standards across all its operations. I’m looking forward to joining a business with such a strong future and a great story to tell.”

Grainne Hurst, group corporate affairs director at GVC, commented: “Tessa’s appointment will help GVC to amplify its ambitions, values and unique competitive advantages as the company continues to strengthen and build its core team. She will join both the expanding corporate affairs and investor relations teams at GVC, and will work closely with Jay Dossetter, who has recently been promoted to Head of ESG and Press Office.”

Shares in GVC Holdings plc. (LSE:GVC) were trading up 2.52 per cent at 790.60 pence per share in London Tuesday morning.

I have reread the results - they are very good I must say.

The court case issue really is such a minor fly in the ointment.

The US potential and then throw in Brazil and Germany - this should ready be £10 if not higher.

If GVC were on similar valuations to PENN or Draftkings it would already be way over £10.

Can't help but think I need to allocate more money here (but already too overloaded...)

Jefferies focusing on GVC positives -

Jefferies is choosing to focus on the US opportunities for GVC (GVC) rather than the taxman’s investigations into the betting group.

Analyst James Wheatcroft retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of £12.50 on the shares, which were trading at 786p on Friday.

He upgraded his estimates after the group’s interim results. ‘A rebound in current trading, strong balance sheet and material upside in the US remain key attractions,’ said Wheatcroft.

‘The opaque HM Revenue & Customs investigation into historical events may be a drag on sentiment until resolution, with timing unclear. We prefer to look forward to the material US opportunity.’

Yes agree excellent post, as all here know I have been increasing
since March / April and continue to do so. Yes £20 a share will be here,
when not sure, but I will be here with more than I hold now.

I am expecting Mr Diller and co to open a gvc position soon.

Imo £20 is medium range target ...$20bn GVC estimate for US market seems conservative given UK market is a similar size £14bn
with 1/6 of the population...even then a 20% market share with 30% EBITDA margin as in NJ, would see ROAR alone delivering c£1bn of EBITDA..almost 50% larger than GVC EBITDA 720-740 est2020.
Is the share price about to pop?

We are poised here and it won't be long before gvc share price absolutely rockets, its just a matter of time. We are so undervalued, 10% annual growth, taking market share in all key territories, best technology, best people, best deals, best geographic diversity, all right seeds being sown, all cards lined up. Major rerate back into double digit share price over coming months.

I get the impression Biden is quite pro- online gaming too so IF (and hopefully when) he beats Trump later this year we will see additional moves from the US administration to loosen restrictions

Once the US really decides to accept online gambling as they
