Oilerman, no idea if it's going to produce a result, but the 'urging', is a different level now, it's been ambassadors and B level meetings so far, and a couple of half hearted statements from Blinken, now it's full government heads piling on the pressure and following up with action. As in the tweet shared before, will a deal be made or will Sudani hold out for the 60 days and impose his own consultants. |
Seems like the US have been strongly urging them for a good few months now though. |
“Just get it done before it gets done for you!”
The US is not messing around. |

President Trump's National Security Advisor @MikeWaltz47 encourages @IraqiPMO to remove obstacles fromoil companies operating in Kurdistan Region, as part of Iraq's energy growth and independence. |
They do johnyladyboy and that's why none of them have shown any interest in the field of sludge!!
Only DNO back in 2016 did and for 70pps old money before deciding it wasn't worth even that and walked away!!
So all the excitement about a meet from you gullible suckers came to nothing again, lol. Would have thought you clowns had learnt by now that nothing can be believed that gets announced out there but obviously not, lol. |
Exxon, Chevron and Sinopec all know what Shaikan holds. |
Shaikan gas at some point in the future! |
Step in Exxon Chevron. Kurdistan Watch @KurdistanWatch Interesting: The U.S. says they hope the KRG’s natural gas will support Iraq’s electricity grid - just as the U.S. government ends Iraq’s exemption for purchasing Iranian gas.
This is particularly interesting because Iraq has long sought access to KRG’s natural resources. The PUK has also wanted this and has been working to direct the gas to Kirkuk. However, the KDP has preferred exporting it to Turkey, aligning with Erdogan’s interest in securing the gas supply plus it increased KRG leverage since the gas export has to go via KDP areas. Since the majority of Kurdistan’s natural gas reserves are in PUK-controlled areas, this shift could increase the PUK’s political leverage, especially as Iranian gas exports are halted.
A U.S. State Department spokesperson told Rudaw TV that alternatives to Iranian gas exist, stating: “We hope that all Iraqis will benefit from the natural gas resources and electricity production capacity of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This is an opportunity to strengthen Iraq’s internal relations.”
The spokesperson added: “American companies are ready and looking forward to assisting the government in increasing natural gas production in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.” |
From 10:40... |
To be fair. The conditions are set in stone. If the ICG won't agree then there is no point holding a pointless meeting. Let's see. |
I don't think there is a meeting today. It was only reported by Zoom yesterday and nothing at all has been reported by any of the outlets today.
Al-Sudani only chaired a normal regular meeting on oil sector projects so no external people were present. |
Cheers Oilerman 👍🏻 |

They'll definitely be discussing the export situation in today's meeting. |
CG not seen anything either. But conversations must be ongoing.Sounds like the US are upping the threat of sanctions which should help. On another note, some people have said the iocs might wait until September. There is no chance of this. The amount of work that has gone into getting this over the line and effectively rewriting the part of the Iraqi constitution means it definitely will, once commercial terms are sorted. GLA and hopefully get some news later. |
#gkp #gkptakeoverYep.AGM Resns 10+12 were clearly requested /required by the buyers as part of their post sale business integration planLegitimacy coming very soon= formal announcement and deal closure. |
Is the meeting actually happening today? Not a peep of news or updates anywhere I can see.... |
Is this deal, by arrangement, friendly, hostile, pre planned which requires the CEO to remain at his desk waiting for an Oil law and budget agreement that you've been boring everyone with since 2014 Carroll, or a different one? Will he be able to announce that he's located any of the Kozel BS barrels that you gullible suckers say the company have been 'hiding' since 2012? TIA:-) |
