Iran knows perfectly well that Biden wont start another war in an election year. But he could impose yet more sanctions on any country assisting Iran. Such as Iraq buying gas from them and China buying oil.

All imo but can’t see how he would be saying this unless some negotiations are already taking place behind the scenes.

Nice orchestrated firework display from Iran, US and Israel last night. News outlets already reporting US have said they won’t join Israel in any offensive move against Iran. A face saving PR exercise.

Also check out the tweets from UK prime minister and the US offices mentioning only Iraq and Jordan when talking about regional allies. I think the west are losing a lot of the countries in Middle East and so it’s important strategically for US to keep it aligned with the West.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd confirming Iraq being one of the four countries of origin for Iran’s retaliatory attacks against Israel is not good news for Iraqi PM Sudani as he is in Washington to garner some US good will.
He will likely face some serious questions over this, particularly from Congress members.
This does not help with his attempts to project a sense of authority over the state.
The question is whether Iran ordered its allied Iraqi militias to join tonight’s campaign against Israel to purposely undermine Sudani or he did not even factor into their considerations. Either way not a good thing for Sudani’s image.

There's a new pipe being sorted and all Epicure have to do is negotiate new terms with Baghdad to get their oil added to what comes up from Kirkuk.

Baghdad obviously don't want to pay the $6pb being mentioned to put a barrel of oil into a pipe owned by the Russians. Reduce the $6pb to a minimal amount and the Yanks might go along with it.

Are Epicure unaware that there are sanctions on Russia or do they think they deserve to be a special case? Does 400k a day warrant being made a special case or could the views of Epicure only be viewed as selfish and looking after themselves whilst a great part of the Western world have had to foot the costs of the sanctions?
