Shafaq News / Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani engaged in significant diplomatic outreach on Monday, holding discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
During these conversations, Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq's steadfast commitment to the U.S.-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement across various domains.
In a statement, it was revealed that Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Secretary Blinken discussed the escalating developments in the Gaza Strip and the worsening humanitarian situation for the Palestinian people.
Both leaders emphasized the critical need for coordinated efforts to ensure continuous and secure access to food, water, medical care, and other essential aid for the affected population.
The call also highlighted Iraq's commendable efforts in providing humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza, underscoring the necessity of joint coordination to maintain stability in the region and prevent the conflict from expanding.
Additionally, Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Secretary Austin delved into discussions regarding the presence of military advisors and international coalition teams combating terrorism in Iraq.
They emphasized the importance of supporting Iraqi security forces with advice and training, aiming to sustain the victories achieved against ISIS. Indeed , the HCL could be the key to all of this, certainly for Western /European INOCS. This is the reason of course why the ICG are dragging their feet.

However such a constraint wont bother others such as the Chinese or South Koreans who tend to take a multi generational view of O&G investments and dont let petty requirements for such things as "Law" get in the way.

Remember Simon Murray and his Chinese contacts as he left GKP with his "Ill be back" statement ?

Since he is ex French Foreign Legion I'm inclined to believe him.

AFTER HOURS

Years ago my professor at LSE handed me back an essay with the words "ceteris paribus" written on it and then he told me that they weren`t so he disagreed with my conclusions.

GKP has the same problem because depending on the circumstances it is either the most wonderful and attractive investment or simply a chancer`s punt.

If one accepts recoverable oil of 5- to 7 billion barrels and a purchase price of $5 or $7 a barrel one could get a share valuation of £90---to £190 John Buy territory and with these figures GKP could expect the type money paid by Exxon and Chevron With these figures GKP would definitely be the most attractive share in the galaxy.

BUT that assumes ceteris paribus and they are definitely not.

We need to have a decent Oil and Gas Law, good agreed and reliable contracts, certainty of payment, proper budgeting at federal and regional level not to mention payment for oil already delivered, pipeline accessibility etc etc Overall we need a stable political and economic environment which has suddenly been made more uncertain by the current conflict in Gaza with the possibility of it escalating and spreading. Given these factors surely no one would even contemplate spending a lot of money..

Add in these unknowns and GKP is merely a punt but hopefully the months ahead might produce a better situation. My five figure holding is clearly just a punt which won`t hurt even if it goes pear shaped but should the clouds part I shall invest heavily in what would be by far the best opportunity for a long time for those here to make a fortune.
