I am not certain, but I am sure I read that the Democrats blocked Trump when he wanted to release oil from the SPR. It is highly likely the Democrats will lose control of the Senate and possibly even control of the House.
If the Democrats lose control, then it must surely be expected they will stop Biden making any further releases from the SPR.
So December could see a western block on Russian oil sales, no more SPR releases and the ever increasing likelihood that Xi will quietly move away from zero tolerance of covid. What will that do to the oil price?
I reckon $100 per barrel is nailed on.
