UK TAKEOVER CODE precludes in mkt buybacks if BOD know / believe a bid /sale incoming.
That is why they haven't / can't do buybacks, when clearly they could have.

Does anyone here know if the KRG are holding in any of the top 10 holdings listed on the company website? It's hard to imagine them not! They are our hosts after all.

If so, they're effectively getting a good deal of their cash back! Lucky old them.

GKP Shares borrowed (likely shorted) per Euroclear by Month - just updated the lastest October data and it would appear that a shorter/shorters are adding to their GKP short positions. Share price is manipulated and management would do well by instituting Buybacks.

There is the question of future oil revenues , and the capital value of the existing PSC's.
The future revenues may well end up having to be be split with ICG.
The capital value of the PSC's will go to the shareholders of the Kurd oilers - no doubt Barzani etc are balls deep. They will want sale done before any HCL IMO...

Its always been GeoPolitics and the ICG wanting Kurdish oil to prevent Independence.

That has been clearly explained to the three idiots on here for a Decade or more. Who of course, refuse to acknowledge the obvious because it doesnt suit their agenda.

The HCL will be a prerequisit for ALL USA INOCS and possibly all Western ones , with the exception of TOTAL. Probably not for Chinese/Russian or South Korea.

I think wherever there is uncertainty and the investor climate has an impact on foreign investors,” he said.

“I think Canadians as a people are sort of risk averse. I mean, certainly in the hydrocarbon sector, it's a very large market, but the capital costs associated with developing projects are significant and so unless there's a degree of investor certainty, it will inevitably have an impact on you know, how far companies are willing to invest and what kind of risks they are willing to take.”

Oil and gas legislation

The Canadian Ambassador Galligan also said that he hopes there will be new hydrocarbon legislation in Baghdad. “So that it can create a more friendly investor climate that will encourage Canadian companies and other foreign companies to return to KRG and in greater volumes.”
