International Energy Agency nations agree to release additional oil from emergency reserves
From CNN's Matt Egan

The International Energy Agency (IEA) announced Friday following an emergency meeting that its member countries will release additional oil from emergency reserves to cushion the blow caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

However, the IEA did not disclose key details on the size and timing of this additional emergency action, which would be in addition to the historic released announced by the White House on Thursday.

The IEA said details will be made public early next week. The latest steps from the IEA mark just the fifth time in the agency’s history that it has coordinated a release of emergency stockpiles.

Tony - "This is the problem when you have very very old information. You need to check your facts."

“ Leave it to the experts Tony, this sort of thing isn't for an ex refurbisher of old LandRover bits who hasn't a qualification to his name and hasn't worked a day in the industry.”

So you've gone to night school become a Reservoir Engineer and got yourself a job in the industry then Tony.

"And the rest of my post ???"

Substantiate it and we can talk about it, but until then I've every reason to suppose that it's the same purile level of drivel that your analysis of Sh-13 was.

And why did you say that they hadn't intersected any fractures and that an acid job wouldn't work.

Oil price

As expected yesterday, the US have decided to draw down the SPR to the tune of some 180m barrels of crude oil. This has been done to ‘curb gasoline prices’ ahead of the upcoming driving season/mid term elections delete as appropriate.

It is rare for drawdowns from stocks to have much impact on markets primarily as they are normally of limited size and rarely during periods of war. In this case these factors are not the case, it is a decent amount and we are clearly at war with Russia if vicariously. Having said that it may not be enough and having seen a flash fall of around seven bucks yesterday I would imagine that it may not be much more. The golden rule with SPR releases is to buy energy shares the day after the announcement, also to bear in mind that when the release finishes the Government will have told the market that they are buyers back of all the sold oil which might put a floor under the market for months to come…

"You just haven't a clue how these things work have you Sarah "

Understatement of the year with this lot.

What these 3 idiots dont understand is that you dont need the FDP approved to sell the Company. It will be reviewed in any case by the new owner.

Bigdog - "But the FDP hasn't been agreed and the company don't have any idea when it will be. It appears that there are huge problems with it."

You have no experience of this sort of thing have you Sarah.

How can the company have any idea of when it will be finally agreed and signed off, they have no control over the inner workings of the MNR.

And for the third time of asking, what are these "huge problems" that in your opinion there are with it.

You just haven't a clue how these things work have you.

One of the reasons the draft FDP will take a while for the MNR to assess is it's complexity:-

Jon Harris - " While final timing of approval remains uncertain due to the complexity of the project,..."

The MAIN reason however is this:-

26th February 20 - From Esa Ikaheimonen the Chief Financial Officer of Genel in Oslo :-

"The other thing I should mention is to do with the really busy environment in Kurdistan. It's to do with the MNR lacking resources, so the time it takes to do sensible business development, the time it takes to get from an idea to execution is a frustration. It doesn't keep me awake at night but it is a frustration.

It's no better elsewhere and many places are a lot worse. But Kurdistan having quite a closely knit NOC type environment would have a great opportunity to differentiate itself and do a better job than their competitors, and by doing a better job they would allow companies to develop their business, grow faster and attract more capital to the region."

So there you are, the complexity of the proposal, and a FDP is a complex set of documents anyway, and an under resourced MNR to evaluate it,

You're grasping at straws Sarah, the issue of a timeline for FDP approval is a non event and there is nothing to suggest that there are "huge problems" with it.

We know that the MNR is happy to go with gas reinjection instead of gas sweetening and we also know that they're happy with the next well locations because GKP are going to start constructing the well pads, so you just need to stop fretting and be patient.

Why don't we talk about "the failed" Sh-13 and the "missing" ESPs instead, I notice you haven't mentioned them for a few days.
