31/3/2022 11:34 | #GKP Look at div history last 10 months. Best yield on UK market bar NONE. Why no BUYBACKS? Because in T/O talks for mths + bid agreed (or otherwise hostile) they KNOW is coming Code allows providing NON abnormal dividends but NOT open mkt buybacks that would breach Takeover Code ? | giant_canine | |

31/3/2022 10:05 | Gulf Keystone back in the black as oil price soars Jessica Newman The Times Wednesday March 30 2022, 7.45pm BST, Its no surprise that oil companies have been cashing in on soaring oil prices. One of those groups is Gulf Keystone Petroleum, which said it had bounced back to profit last year, triggering the shares to jump to a four-and-a-half-year high. The company, which operates in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, reported profits of $163.7 million, compared with a $47 million loss the year before while revenue tripled to just over $300 million. This year, it’s hoping to achieve an average gross production of 44,000 to 50,000 barrels of oil per day, up from 43,440 last year. Perhaps more importantly, the group said that it would return $90 million of dividends to shareholders split across three payments until May next year. “As is becoming common, the key bit of news wasn’t in the 2021 financials but in the declaration of further capital returns,” Shore Capital, a buyer of the stock, said. Analysts at Peel Hunt, who are revising their forecasts and valuation following the stellar set of numbers, said the results show how Gulf Keystone is very well placed to deliver excess cash to shareholders. The boost to profits and bullish sentiment propelled the shares by 29½p, or 12.8 per cent, to 259p. | punter26 |
