While I'm waiting on my lunch meet 😃

I sat round a table with some major investors with interests in Kurdistan yesterday and the subject got round to the blogs.

They asked me the mental state of some of these characters and who they are and I took great delight in telling them.

How many avatars are actually just 3 people talking to themselves !
We laughed about golden tickets and them being worth double figures and laughed even louder about takeovers tomorrow or anytime soon.

When I told them the history of David Hills, Paul Carroll and Bill the brickie I thought we'd need ambulances 😂😂😂

IG always pay a pro rata adjustment on their clients position s around 30 mins pre market open on any stock ex div day

You've been lucky on two counts, AttyG. 1. Early payment. 2. Using a rate of 1.3933. It's continuing to strengthen and is now 1.3955. (Unless they claw back the difference when GKP publish the rate they've used.)

The special dividend of $25 million is expected to be paid on 6 August 2021, based on a record date of 30 July 2021.

IG now taken it off the "available funds" but have got it in "history" - I guess that is ready for close of business today.

Then 3 things need to happen.

(1) The Oil & Gas Law needs to be signed off.
(2) The current Oil & Gas Contracts have to to be revised and rewritten
(3( Iranian influence in Iraq has to be countered.

Until these are done I doubt they have much chance . XOM usually sets the trend. It would also appear they are justifiably wary of the Chinese "bearing gifts" .

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said that ExxonMobil is considering leaving Iraq for reasons related to its internal administrative practices and decisions, noting that his country wants another American company to replace Exxon when it leaves Iraq.

Exxon, which appeared in 2019 to proceed with a $53 billion project to increase Iraqi oil production, is seeking to sell its 32.7% stake in West Qurna 1, one of Iraq's largest oil fields.

Al-Kazemi told a small group of journalists in Washington after talks with President Joe Biden on Monday that ExxonMobil is considering exiting Iraq for reasons related to its internal administrative practices and decisions, not because of the situation in Iraq.

Speaking through an interpreter, he added that when ExxonMobil leaves, Iraq will not accept an alternative but another American company.

Al-Kazemi did not specify which US companies might be interested in the stake. Chevron also has operations in Iraq.

Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar had said in May that Iraq was considering buying ExxonMobil's stake in the West Qurna 1 field through the state-owned Basra Oil Company.
