Good Morning 😃

No takeover here for the last ten years or more because the people that know the truth (IOC's) are just not interested with so much uncertainty attached.

Why would anyone pay multiples of the current price when they could just buy them in the open market ???

Only the real mcfly02 can post in the MK2 thread.

BUY FOR ISA RECOMMENDED:
Gulf Keystone (GKP): 175p
This one is relatively easy to sum up – currently producing a whopping 43,190 bopd from their Shaikan field in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq and aiming to increase to 55,000 bopd by Q1 2022 beginning with the drilling of the SH-13 well in Q3 of 2021, GKP are valued at £369m and are sitting on a cash pile of $161m
With one of the lowest Opex around at $2.6/bbl, GKP are heavily leveraged to oil prices and with record production levels for 2021 must be loving these current oil prices – recently being described as a ‘cash machine’ by a well-known investment analyst. Also, with the resumption of regular payments to GKP from the Kurdish Regional Government (“KRG”) for the last eleven months and the demise of ISIS political risk has diminished considerably. Repayment mechanisms are in place to recover outstanding arrears of $73.3 million too.
?
Confident enough to re-instate its annual dividend beginning with $25m this year and stating that with ‘continuing strong oil prices, there may be opportunities to consider further distributions to shareholders this year”. Growing production, growing cash, dividends back in place (possibility to grow), lowering costs, strong oil prices. Buy for growth and dividend. Risks have shifted from political to the oil price.

Iraq’s 2021 Budget Law Goes into Effect
Basnews English 2021/04/25 - 15:39 Iraq

ERBIL — Iraq’s federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2021 will go into effect on Monday, April 26, according to an official document.

The country’s Ministry of Finance and Economy directed an official letter to its administrative units to visit the ministry on Monday and receive regulations based on the new law.

It said appealing the articles of the 2021 Budget Law will not delay its implementation.

After weeks of negotiations and parliamentary debates, the budget law was approved at the legislature late in March.

The share of the Kurdistan Region has also been settled in the law after Erbil and Baghdad governments made an agreement on oil exports and non-oil revenues.

Kurdish officials, on different occasions, have reaffirmed the commitment to the budget law, saying that they expect the Iraqi Federal Government to also fulfill its obligations under the new law.

WASHINGTON DC (Kurdistan 24) - The Biden administration officially recognized the mass killing of Armenians by the Ottoman government in 1915 as genocide.

The White House statement proclaiming those murders as “genocide̶1; was denounced by the Turkish government, but welcomed by Armenia’s.

“Each year on this day, we remember the lives of all those who died in the Ottoman-era Armenian genocide and recommit ourselves to preventing such an atrocity from ever again occurring,” the White House statement began.

“Beginning on April 24, 1915, with the arrest of Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in Constantinople”; (present-day Istanbul), by Ottoman authorities, one and a half million Armenians were deported, massacred, or marched to their deaths in a campaign of extermination,”; it continued.

“And we remember, so that we remain ever-vigilant against the corrosive influence of hate in all its forms,” it affirmed.

“We do this not to cast blame but to ensure that what happened is never repeated,” the statement said, as the White House made clear it was not referring to the current Turkish leadership.

Ankara was, nonetheless incensed. Turkey’s Foreign Ministry summoned the US ambassador to protest, describing the statement as “a wound in relations that is difficult to repair.”

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, rejected it, attributing it to domestic US politics. “We have nothing to learn from anybody on our own past,” he tweeted. “Political opportunism is the greatest betrayal to peace and justice.”

Armenia, not surprisingly, expressed the opposite view. Its president, Armen Sarkissian, welcomed the US statement, affirming, “The process of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian genocide will contribute to the prevention of genocide as a crime against humanity and elimination of impunity around the world.”

Unlikely in my opinion. I think they'll stick to the previously agreed formula.

Thanks, Habshan. I was wondering whether the KRG might pay more of the arrears if they are flush? :-)

Hi Pensioner.

Assuming the rate of production was the same then the March payment should be higher.

The average Brent price in February was $62.28 whereas in March it was $65.41 and we'll have 3 more days production.

So including a higher arrears payment we could be looking at around $26 million net to GKP vs the $23 million net that we received in February.
