I must say it again HabscamSlurry: you are a complete fool.

The Anhydrite Layer to which you refer does not provide a continuous seal throughout its extent and certainly not throughout the SH field.

You need to do more exploring...or talking to people who do know about the SH field and who have no interest in puling the wool over people's eyes.

Agree Thick TonyNo the AGM is tomorrow.rubber stamping as votes will be known already, proxies through to Computershare yesterday latest. Didn't bother voting myself. If the sale isn't announced, I would expect another buyback to Treasury as its the most profitable thing to do pre Sale. However if no cancellation of any of the existing Treasury stock, expect a hostile bid, as without cancellation, it must be being used as a hostile takeover protection.

I think you need to find yourself a hobby or something Broadford.

"The AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists) defines breakthrough as follows: - "Water breakthrough is defined as UNCONTROLLABLE WATER PRODUCTION of a well."
"the formulations currently being remarked upon ("no water breakthrough") have been carefully chosen by the CEO."

More scaremongering tosh. Here's Schlumberger's definition of "breakthrough". No mention of the word "uncontrollable":-

"A description of reservoir conditions under which a fluid, previously isolated or separated from production, gains access to a producing wellbore. The term is most commonly applied to water or gas breakthrough"

So why would our CEO need to choose his words carefully when simply advising the Market that there has been no ingress of water or gas into any of the wellbores. Using the term "no breakthrough of water or gas" is a perfectly standard term to describe a situation where there has been no ingress of water or gas into a wellbore.

"There is water being produced, and the volumes are increasing."

And where exactly can we read about that Broadford?

The Company tells us that we are producing dry otherwise known as clean oil:-

Dry Oil - "A treated oil that contains small amounts of basic sediments and water (BS&W). Dry oil is also called clean oil."

Dry oil is a good thing Broadford.

Otherwise they would need to describe it as wet oil:-

Wet Oil - "Oil that contains basic sediment and water (BS&W)."

We also know that the Company has no problems with water.

Stuart Catterall:-

"I wanted to address this issue because a couple of the other fields in Kurdistan have had problems with water but we think that the nature of Shaikan is quite different. But we still take a lot of care over how we position our wells and how we design our wells."

For those who want to read what Stuart Catterall said on the subject here it is again.

"This is a slide showing a cross section of the structure, I wanted to explain what we're doing with our new development wells. This slide shows our first development well Shaikan-H (Sh-12) and it's been designed with a couple of things in mind.

First of all we've put these wells about half way down the structure, the reason being we think there's a secondary gas cap forming at the top of the reservoir which is good news as it provides the energy to maintain the pressure to a certain extent. However you want your wells to be a certain distance away from that as you don't want to be producing a lot of gas and just recycling it around the reservoir, so we take a lot of care over exactly where they go.

At the same time you don't want to be too close to the water which you can pull up from the flanks, we're about 2-3 kms from the flanks, so we're quite some distance from the water.

The SAM reservoir which is at the top of the Jurassic contains about two thirds of the reserves, the great thing about that is that the wells are a long way from the water underneath, you also have a natural barrier to the water flow in the form of an anhydrite layer.

The lower Jurassic Butmah doesn't have the advantage of the anhydrite but we've designed the wells to stay well above the OWC and there is evidence from the appraisal wells of a tar mat along the bottom which is again likely to suppress water.

On the slide it doesn't look very far but I would just remind you of what Jon said earlier about the SCALE of this reservoir. It's 950 metres from top to bottom which is very large by any standards, and even at the bottom of the well we're 200 metres above the OWC.

I wanted to address this issue because a couple of the other fields in Kurdistan have had problems with water but we think that the nature of Shaikan is quite different. But we still take a lot of care over how we position our wells and how we design our wells."

How is it the share price is not going nuts if a takeover is so close...?If you know then others would know... volume is really low so doesn't indicate people buying into a TO just round the corner.
