No company that is employed to generate a CPR will put their reputation on the line with "a stab".

They want to see data that they can interpret as incontrovertible PROOF.

As does the market.

It's why the current CPR is burdened with layer after layer after layer of conservatism and is regarded as no more than a baseline on which to build.

They'll want to see a lot more than 10 wells drilled in my opinion.

Has a CPR ever been generated for Kirkuk?

I am not sure about how many wells you need to have a accurate stab at Shaikan reserves. How close a model is it to Kirkuk? because Kirkuk could all drain out of one well located on the eastern flank given enough time. Kirkuk is one of the most fractured reservoirs in the World , Shaikan if not better is No 2 IMO.

A statement of the bleeding obvious.

Any CURRENT CPR only addresses reserves which the report writer is confident are CURRENTLY proven.

You cannot prove up an entire field the size and complexity of Shaikan with 10 wells.

Over the years GKP have told us how much oil they believe is in the reservoir and it is in the billions of barrels.

There will be many CPRs, and over time the PROVEN numbers will converge with the numbers that are understood to be there.

If Oilman wants to make himself useful then maybe he should concentrate his efforts on trying to bring to the boards something that we don't already know.
