Ha yes that would be something |
Id laugh if it was John Gerstenlauer (ex COO & CEO GKP) 😆 |
Also quite mad to think that Al Sudani stood up in parliament in December and urged everyone to vote for the amendment. And then went and sucker punched it on the day of the vote. Had almost forgot about that. |
If BP get established how will that affect quotas? |
No Bob it's not me, but he does seem able to access what's going on quite quickly and he does seem to be genuine.
I don't know who he is but so far he's given no reason to doubt him that I can see. |
The closer we get to September I would anticipate either Iraq folds or we go with better terms from KRG-Turkiye |
Who is John on Twitter btw. Do they grace this board? Habs is it you? |
Trumps back in charge, let's get everything out there and sort it out once and for all.Show the medievals in Baghdad for what they really are.If it means pulling away from the nutters then so be it.Timing couldn't be better to sort this lot out. |

Im beginning to think the issue is that the ICG have realised they need the Kurds on board for the BP deal. IF that is the case the BP will be pushing for it as part of the deal.I doubt Trump is done either. So this is not over yet.
IMO |
"BP-Iraq Kirkuk agreement must include Kurdistan, says region's prime minister.
One way for the Kurds to get involved in the negotiations would be to meet with BP officials separately from the Iraqi government.
The Kurds will use their ties with U.S. government to push the Iraqis and BP to involve them."
Hehehe, Kurds barging in, love it.
"In practice, I don't think we have the ability to prevent this," Barzani said, but called the deal "unconstitutional."
The deal IS unconstitutional and hence illegal, and the Kurds may not be able to prevent it without going to court but they certainly can and already have prevented that oil being exported through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline.
Last week - "Abdul Ghani said that the deal will raise production to 500kbpd which will be sent to local refineries".
Cut us in on the deal and we might let you export it. |
"In addition there's even more signs that Baghdad seek to control all as a few of us mentioned ages ago!!"
Indeed Sarah, but no brownie points I'm afraid. Baghdad have been seeking control for a hundred years and they're no closer now than they were then:-
Text of the statement of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
"We were surprised that a proposal was sent to the House of Representatives unilaterally by the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives without consulting the Kurdistan Regional Government.
These efforts will harm the whole of Iraq, deepen the problems and do not serve to resolve the issues.
Therefore, we reject these attempts and proposals in any way."
So,try again.
john@john - "Revisions to budget amendment being discussed.... expect it to come back for a vote soon...." |
If this touches the 140s today I'll be buying hand over fist |
Rudaw Digital The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has said that a proposal to amend the budget law on oil exports has been sent to the Iraqi parliament without their knowledge and consultation. Text of the statement of the Kurdistan Regional Government: After several meetings and efforts to amend the federal budget law by the House of Representatives and resume oil exports, although the first and second reading, but unfortunately at the last moment, was not voted on.We were surprised that a proposal was sent to the House of Representatives unilaterally by the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives without consulting the Kurdistan Regional Government or being voted on by the Federal Council of Ministers By amending the budget bill for the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region. These efforts will harm the whole of Iraq, deepen the problems and do not serve to resolve the issues. Therefore, we reject these attempts and proposals in any way. Therefore, the proposal we have agreed upon must be put to a vote. Spokesperson of the Kurdistan Regional Government |

It will need to be soon.
"The agreement commits both parties to sign a contract in the first week of February," he said. |

Revisions to budget amendment being discussed.... expect it to come back for a vote soon.... |
Ah old Pinocchio Ghani again eh? |
"Iraq's Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Ghani told AFP News that the project would increase the four oil fields' production to up to 500,000 barrels per day."
Last week - "The minister also noted that under the BP deal, oil production would be raised by up to 100,000 barrels per day (bpd), noting that the oil would flow to refineries in the north".
Kurdistan currently produces around 300kbpd, some goes to local refineries but most of it goes to Turkey and Iran and then to the UAE and world markets.
But 500kbpd from Kirkuk is supposedly going to be absorbed by local refineries around Kirkuk.
Methinks not.
But exporting through their section of the ITP that was newly refurbished for the purpose is no longer part of the plan.
"The agreement commits both parties to sign a contract in the first week of February," he said.
I suspect that BP's pen will be hovvering for a while longer. |
Let them huff and puff . Trump wont see it as meddling because its his way or no way , as they are just about to find out. The hard way by the sounds of it. |
