He means £250 per share Fardels. I'd be reasonably happy with that.

Banging on prediction sold before Xmas fell flat again !! Banging on about nothing, so what's the next prediction on the sale ?? I would take £2.50p now and run for the hills.

450kbopd x $85 per barrel x 630 (days pipeline closed) = $24B

That would give total revenue generated but of course that's not really relevant as IOC's are only entitled to a share of this amount and there are other costs.
Also bear in mind that the KRG and IOC's have been selling the oil "locally" that would've generated the above $24B in the past 630 days.

At the moment, the $24B is mythical. In theory the mythical $24B could be used as a threat by the IOCs that they are not gonna enforce but allows Baghadad to pay IOCs exactly what they are getting from the current legal contracts and cash owed and at the same time swerving the $24B,thus saving face, which is very important in the ME.
Let's see if an offical announcement appears and if it does how the figure is calculated.
At the moment it is hear say.

You dont negotiate £24 Billion FE . This is shareholders money. OUR money.
You build a legal justification and you SUE them. The discussion then begins as to HOW they pay.
Thats the negotiation.

Nothing from Apikur/IOCs/Other media, just Shafaq. So at the moment it's just a "may happen".As you say if this is officially verified then that's another matter entirely.
If it remains a threat then it's a bargaining chip.

If this is real and APIKUR have put a claim in . Then its more than a bargaining chip.

IF this goes to court the ICG WILL lose. If they refuse to pay then they will have assets confiscated. Its a self inflicted economic and PR disaster. Inflicted on Iraq by IRAN who know that Trump will have no sympathy with them after they attempted to assassinate him.

What could happen is their profit per bbl is adjusted over the lifetime of the PSC or some other contractual change. I doubt they will be even capable of raising the cash..

Lets see how the share price reacts ..

The decision will eliminate a problem that was being discussed behind the scenes...Now everyone in #Iraq understands that the contracts between international IOCs and the #KRG are good, fair and legal.

Thank you for enlightening me. I`m most grateful as it`s been bothering me all day.I could not see any commercial arm or any appeal court status.

I posted my concerns earlier today but filled them out after hours to avoid upsetting anyone but am grateful to you for the clarification.

Thanks again

.It seems to be official with a wide brief but doesn`t seem to appear in descriptions of their legal structure.

Baghdad/ Karkh Federal Appeal Court has announced the release of 810 defendants based on various legal ways since the curfew began

Arcadian - "I`d like to see the legitimacy of this court as when it appears in the legal system of IRAQ it is a criminal court not versed in contracts etc"

The Karkh Court is not just a criminal court, it also hosts a commercial court:-

4th July 2022, Iraq Oil Report - "The Karkh Commercial Court in Baghdad purported to annul four of Iraqi Kurdistan's oil contracts Monday, as the federal Oil Ministry intensifies its push to implement February's landmark ruling against the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and its oil sector independence."

Those 4 contracts among others, were declared invalid by the Karkh Commercial Court on the basis of the February 2022 decision by the so called "Supreme Court".

That decision was appealed (presumably by the KRG) and it was overturned a few days ago and the MoO lost the case on the basis that you cannot apply a law retroactively.

Baghdad has two appeals courts, one of them for criminal cases and one for commercial cases:-

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - "The Baghdad Karkh Appeals Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Iraq's Federal Oil Ministry."

I'd like to see confirmation of the $24 billion compensation claim.

It was reported in Shafaq News and they were quoting an Iraqi economist called Nabil al-Marsoumi but there's nothing in the report to say they contacted APIKUR or anybody else for comment or confirmation.

Nobody else seems to have picked up the story and I'm wondering how an Iraqi economist called Nabil al-Marsoumi knows what APIKUR are planning to do.

If it wasn't true then I'm sure APIKUR would have issued a denial by now.

There's no doubt that compensation claims will come but I'd still like to see it confirmed.

And I'd have expected to see some sort of market reaction this afternoon although GENEL shot up from 2-30pm and closed over 7% up, whether that was related I don't know.

It just seems strange that an economist would be the first person to break the story, how would he know about it before anybody else.

One or two reports say the MoO have 30 days to appeal, but I'm thinking that's a translation problem more than accurate reporting.
