Give me strength.I can't imagine Kurdistan handing over their Oil Revenues to Baghdad in the HOPE they get their share.They can't even receive their correct share now so a HCL agreement with Baghdad seems pie in the sky imo.
The potential Chinese investment in Kurdistan is interesting though.

All Contracts ( incl the PSC ) have mutually agreed penalties that either party can claim in the case of a breach , usually a description of likely financial compensation. It does not typically pay to break a high value contractual agreement.

Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) criticized the decision of the Federal Supreme Court.
Today, Iraq's highest judicial body ruled that the monthly remittances to the Kurdistan Regional Government as "illegal and unconstitutional."
In a statement, KRG described the decision as a "hostile" step against the rights of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and their constitutional financial entitlements.
"Instead of supporting the positive atmosphere between the regional government and the federal government, the Court prevented sending the sums to the people of Kurdistan." The statement said.
The statement continued, "The Kurdistan Region is a federal constitutional region, and these decisions are a flagrant violation of the Iraqi constitution and the agreement of the State Administration Coalition that formed the new government and contradicted the ministerial program approved by Parliament."
KRG said the decision is against the region and the new Iraqi government, calling the parties that formed the cabinet to take a frank stance in this regard.

Today, Iraq's highest judicial body ruled that the monthly remittances to the Kurdistan Regional Government as "illegal and unconstitutional."

He continued, "The decision of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court at this time is nothing but suspicious and questionable.”

I am sitting here waiting in expectation rather than hope.

I think we have finally seen a light at the end of the tunnel. The share price can only be held back for so long. The pressure to increase will become irresistible.

" ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Masoud Barzani on Wednesday issued a statement strongly opposing a ruling by the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq.

Today, the Federal Court issued a ruling against the payment of the Kurdistan Region’s share of the budget for the last two months of 2022. KDP President Barzani responded by releasing a strong statement against the court decision.

“The main problem here is not the amount of money, but rather the flagrant violation of rights and principles,” he said. “It is clear that our participation in the new Iraqi government was based on specific principles agreed to by all parties. The financial share of the Kurdistan Region was clearly one of the terms we agreed on.” Furthermore, this is a legitimate right of our people, he added.

“It is unfortunate that whenever there is a positive atmosphere between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, and whenever there is an opportunity to resolve issues, the Federal Court takes the initiative to subvert the opportunity with a hostile decision,” Barzani said.

Comparing the Federal Supreme Court to the Ba'ath Revolutionary Court, Barzani said, “the Iraqi government and the parties affiliated with the State Administration Coalition should declare their opposition to the Court’s decision because it goes against the Kurdistan Region, the political process, the Iraqi government, and the agreement of the Coalition of the State Administration.” In the interest of all Iraqis and the Kurdistan Region, we must all stand against this violation. Chinese group offers $10bn investment in Iraq’s Kurdistan

Chinese conglomerate Gezhouba Group has offered to invest $10bn in infrastructure projects in the Autonomous Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq, news site Zawya reports.

Mohammed Shukri, chairman of the Kurdistan Investment Commission, said the group had offered to invest the money in rail networks, power projects, roads, dams “and other sectors”.

Shukri added that the Kurdistan regional government has formed a committee to study the offer and identify projects for investment. He did not say whether it fell under the oil-for-projects agreement signed by Iraq and China in 2019.

The regional government is soliciting international investment in “every sector”, including oil and gas, electricity, agricultural and the service industries.

Iraq/Kurdistan need the Oil and gas revenue for the next few decades so I cant see them doing anything that will put potential Investors off. The days of nationalising company's for the "greater good" are long gone.

"The Prize " is a good read to understand what is going on. Especially since the Author Mr Yergin is/was a "Consultant" for GKP not so long ago.

Meanwhile there are a lot of agreeable people with fingers in the baking of an edible pie. Eventually one hopes that Erbil and Baghdad will agree on the key points aided by the USA but even then the key questions are how will GKP fare in the mix
and will such companies benefit or be sacrificed for the greater good? Only when the horizon begins to clear on these matters will we see anyone putting a tasting finger in the pie.
