Takeover here has been a no brainer since first oil.Remarkably on these blogs everybody ( including many still here) thought it inevitable. Many of those here saying no no no , now, were all saying yes yes yes back then.LOLOf course 36,000 retail got stiffed when it never surfaced. Now of course at the moment of most obvious watershed for change of operatorship, FDP , apparently there is no chance.LOL.it's an utter inevitability, just sold to whom? when announced? And how much?Sit back relax , add whenever you can, and wait for the RNS.

But Paul, everything you thought was a no brainer (proxy buybacks etc etc etc) has proved to be wrong. You don't particularly have a decent track record do you young man.

"The mystery takeover is utter garbage. Ignore the nutters spreading that rumour."

There seems to be only 1 nutter, his name is Paul Carroll, he has about 10 different accounts here on ADVFN and Twitter

Those previous buybacks were announced as buyback programmes, G_C, and for that reason were rns'd. The current mandate says:

THAT the Company be generally and unconditionally

That looks different to me.

The mystery takeover is utter garbage. Ignore the nutters spreading that rumour.Zero chances of licences being revoked. This is political gamesmanship.Iraq needs KRG support to form a government, and KRG are very clear on how they stand with regards to the recent ruling by the interim court.

Both companies that have left are oil SERVICING companies.
They have left presumably because they generate a lot more revenue in the south than in Kurdistan, and don't want to lose out in the south winding Baghdad up.
These two companies don't pump oil for profit.
IMO takeover of GKP is 99.999% certainty. Just when and how much...........

Can I ask the 'professional investors' among you to advise us, the less professional ones to comment on 1. possible takeover of GKP and 2. The ministry off will is telling oil companies to quit the KURDISTAN fields, AND Schlumberger US based Oil firm is doing that very thing. What are the chances for others?

Problem is for us muppets we only find out about the first implementation agreement, when its all a done deal just needing rubber stamp vote often years after it all began.

.

There are often two agreements in the context of an amalgamation or merger. The main transaction agreement (the “Agreement and Plan of Merger/Amalgamation” (in the case of US transactions) or “Implementation Agreement” (in the case of English law transactions)), which will be subject to the law of the parties’ onshore counsel or the jurisdiction in which the company is listed or where the company conducts the majority of business, which sets out the terms and means of effecting the transaction and which will include comprehensive warranties, indemnities, conditions precedent, deal protection mechanisms (if any). In addition, a statutory merger or amalgamation agreement will also be used, which sets out that which is required to be approved by the shareholders under section 105 of the Companies Act.

Not sure about that, G_C. So long as they've fulfilled the conditions this is what the AGM voted for:

THAT the Company be generally and unconditionally authorised to make market purchases of its Common Shares in such manner as the Directors
shall from time to time determine, provided that:

I doubt we will see that P2 - any in mkt buyback they would have to launch by RNS.
I still hope we may see some proxy deal - but the paying off bond makes me less positive.
Did find a few bob down the sofa Friday - and about 9.3 p ex div Thursday will be going back in as well - then another 18.6p 2 weeks after that - so extra I got low 250's net of divs was low 220's.

Takeover then great.
No takeover then they will probably pay another 50 P or more 2nd half.
What as they say is not too like?
