CapitalAnybody got an LSE account.Tell StrayCat that there was an alterior motive for the share buybacks.Add up in total how many were bought back.........coincidentally very nearly same amount in total that Capital were gifted at Restructure...It was to pay them out for holding whilst the company needed protection from hostile interference.

The Erbil kurds are well known down in Baghdad for, how shall I put it, "massaging the figures".
There are, however, well-placed sources who will ensure that the true numbers are passed on.
It won't fly.

The £/$ rate getting a thrashing today (presumably Boris related) so it would be a good day to fix the dividend conversion rate? Let's see if they do.

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's visit to the United Kingdom was the most important visit an official from the Kurdistan Region, or Iraq has made to a foreign country, Doctor Mohammed Ehsan, a university professor and political analyst, said on Thursday.

"The visit is important because the UK is not a normal country, it is a prominent country in the world," Ehsan told Kurdistan 24.

He noted that since Britain left the European Union, it has taken on a more independent foreign policy.

Another important aspect of Barzani's official visit, according to Ehsan, was the fact that, in addition to meeting his British counterpart Boris Johnson, he had meetings with various senior ministers and government officials.

"This combination of meetings that Barzani had during his visit to the UK made the visit very important," he said, adding that the prime minister's speech at the world-leading policy institute Chatham House was also significant.

Following Barzani's meeting with Prime Minister Johnson on Tuesday, the British government issued a statement highlighting some of the important topics the two leaders discussed.

"The leaders highlighted the strength of their relationship, recognizing the UK's deep ties with the Kurdish people," read the statement. "They noted the significant opportunities for greater partnerships across trade and investment."

Acknowledging the ongoing challenges to regional security, Johnson voiced his enduring commitment to the stability of Iraq and counter-terror operations against ISIS.

"Prime Minister Barzani spoke about his aspiration to export energy to Europe, and the Prime Minister lauded his efforts to help reduce Western reliance on Russian oil and gas," read the statement. "The Prime Minister updated Prime Minister Barzani on his recent visit to Kyiv and reiterated the need for the international community to continue to push back against Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine."

Ehsan pointed out that London plays a significant role in the Middle East, going so far as to say the international community cannot make any decision on the future of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the broader region without the UK.

"The UK sees the Kurdistan Region as a strong and trustworthy partner for the future of energy and stability in the Middle East," he added.

I think it may have been a sort of arbritage deal. The spread bet CFD cos pay the dividend pre market on ex div morning. So if you trade on margin if you put 1k in an account you can buy 5k worth of stock. So for 1000 cash in you get say 2000 shares, next Thursday you get 2000x23p - 460 quid into your account, but of course the value of your shares will fall.Depending how sophisticated/ how big the players , it could have had something along those lines

I dont see that happening today. It has looked increasingly bearish over the last few days & they are going to have to treeshake to get hold of a serious volume of GKP stock if they are to try that

Some stocks are just seriously under valued, Take a look at Barclays for instance, serious under valued stock in the Ftse 100, look at the yield with RIO? it's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes, then one day people want them and they get over valued but keep rising and defy logic, it happens.

The share price doesn't make sense. If there's big buys going through surely that would push it up? Or are the city boys helping their mates get a good troughing at low prices? It's clear the share price is being held back.Huge dividends, high price of oil, poss takeover target....Massively undervaluedSomething not adding up!

Not necessarily, h/c. All is never what it seems here. There might be another lurking for all we know but we should see a reasonably straight share price just before ex-dividend date. (imo)
