Broadford - "It's still not at all clear as to why GKP have been unable, so far, to identify a good sealing formation in such a large field for re-injection of the concentrated sour gas."

It's perfectly clear Broadford, it's because they haven't been looking.

Ops update March 20 - "The gas management plan now envisages the export of sweet gas instead of gas reinjection."

April 2020:-

Stuart Catterall - "If circumstances were different and if the gas infrastructure were more developed then it may make more sense not to reinject but to sell the gas..."."

Awat Shikh Janab - "the destructive economic impact of the coronavirus appears to have brought the KRG and the ICG closer, as they further agreed to develop Kurdistan Region gas fields to be used to generate the electricity needed to fill the country's shortfall. We provisionally agreed to develop the gas fields in the Kurdistan Region in a way that benefits both sides and helps with generating electricity, KRG finance minister Awat Shikh Janab said in the press conference.

Jon Harris 18th June 21- "I am leading work to develop a comprehensive ESG strategy. A major focus of our strategy will be utilizing our gas for economic return....."

We've even got more gas than Dana Gas.

Since all that was discussed gas prices have gone through the roof.

A nice little earner to say the least.

Any talk of reinjecting the gas will be met with blank stares.

What you have to ask your self if invested in GKP is how much of the resource has been tapped in to , they haven't really got started.

It's not in dispute as to whether the KRG can just decide to force such costly policies on companies.
What is open for debate is just how close to each other's position they can come and in what timescale.

The issue of flaring, or its cessation, has always been in the PSC - it has just never been forced on the operators.

It's still not at all clear as to why GKP have been unable, so far, to identify a good sealing formation in such a large field for re-injection of the concentrated sour gas.

Broadford - "We have set 18 months, and the punishment is taxes if the companies want to flare...".

Even Ministers of Natural Resources can't just stick their finger in their ear and arbitrarily decide that as of this minute flaring is illegal, produce a figure of 18 months, and assume that it will be done without cost to the KRG.

When the IOCs signed their contracts those contracts specified certain emission levels, "GKP - whilst we currently meet required standards in Kurdistan for air quality", if the MNR now want to move the goalposts that will mean a change in the contract terms and that means they'll have to pay, and they already owe the IOCs billions.

Rudaw 25/8/21 - "Kurdistan Region faces challenges to end flaring."

"The KRG is likely to face complications in obliging the companies to shift to a high cost process, even with the threat of taxes as punishment for those who do not comply. Eighteen months may not be enough of a heads up."

“Generally what happens is if a company spends money in accommodating the flaring, they count it as a cost. In the end the KRG is to pay for it,”

“For some companies it might be doable, but others might need an extension. There are going to be issues, because you are not in Texas or Saudi Arabia where the industry is very mature."

"Ceasing flaring requires a financial commitment and experts to do the job. According to Zulal, several factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain problems, and a lack of specialist gas engineering companies in Kurdistan who can do these projects might eventually require the government to extend the deadline for some companies."

"Some companies might even resist and say this is not part of our contract, we are not mobilized to do it, we will do it when we think we are in the right position,” he added."

"The Kurdistan Region owes a large amount of money, that could be a factor in efforts to end flaring. In late June, the Council of Ministers Secretary General Amanj Raheem told parliament that the KRG owes around $4.3 billion to oil companies."

Kamal Atroshi, KRG Minister for Natural Resources, stated on 19th August 2021 in an interview with Rudaw that he had given the OilCos 18 months to stop this completely – so end Jan-2023?
As has been oft aired, it’s open to debate whether the OilCos can even hope to get anywhere near this target by then.

Weatherdon’s gas management plan of reaching zero (or “50% reduction in CO2/bbl” as he puts it, by end-2025 is 3 years later than the Minister’s.

He also said: "...We have set 18 months, and the punishment is taxes if the companies want to flare...".

It is still not at all clear that the company’s plan will be acceptable to the KRG/MNR.

Bigdog - "Then there's the gas flaring issue they need to solve and that's now due in 9 months."

NINE MONTHS Sarah?

You just haven't got a clue have you, is it any wonder that you're treated as an idiot around here when you can't even get the basics right.

Only yesterday people on here posted up links to the latest Sparebank Energy Conference which took place on Thursday where this subject was addressed both verbally by Ian Weatherdon and in writing in the presentation which is up on the website:-

Ian Weatherdon - "We have a gas management plan with a focus of eliminating routine flaring by the middle of 2025 which will bring down our carbon intensity by more than 50% and overarching all of this we have strong governance and compliance."

Presentation - "Environmental focus on >50% reduction in CO2/bbl by 2025 through elimination of routine flaring."

The middle of 2025 is almost THREE AND A HALF YEARS away Sarah, not nine months.

What an idiot.

Steephill where did Stokopedia get their info from for last divi.

Anyone know?

Kozel and as fake as his BS barrels.

Whats the point of sarahgibbs the cross dresser, OiliO, steephill bore and frenchyboy?

None cos they're all the same from the pointless Hills and his BS fantasy.

I was speaking with someone "in the know" recently and they were able to advise me of all the wells that have found/have water problems. There are several but you've been told this all before. Didn't the company say in one of their most recent announcements that its common to find "some water" in a field like shaiCON. Nice load of spin just to keep the suckers salivating? All about the mushroom theory?

S12 I reckon will be abandoned. Then there's real issues at S13 and S14 which the company say are "below their expectations". So where is the fabled and over seven years in making 55k a day coming from now?

I wonder how they've spun that to the hosts:-) Then there's the gas flaring issue they need to solve and that's now due in 9 months. I wonder if the hosts believe its best to leave it to your "experts"?

To put it more plainly the Rothschilds Banking system will be replaced. It will happen soon and throw the World and the Ukraine war into chaos.
All the ducks are being lined up and it just needs a couple of weeks of media and financial blackout to acheive this.
On another topic, Her Majesty has been unwell recently.
