SC - Wordle was more accurate than that!

We've already been valued on £billions when on AIM. Spend 100s of millions on field development and production facilities and watch the market cap plummet. That's investing in Iraq for you 🛢️29312;💭

That was a personal feeling Steephill, as I am appalled by what is happening in Ukraine. I can't see how any amount of money lost on a share or the suffering that comes from that can be compared to people dying in a war. However I appreciate that people lost a lot here and I hope they can recoup those losses. For the record I am still heavily invested in this share and only this share, so I'm not trying to bash it or anything, quite the contrary.

Was anybody saying that about GKP shareholders when there was consolidation or a courtroom battle or when ISIS were in the ascendancy 🤷‍a94;️

I was trying to use a conservative price rather than using the current possibly short term elevated price.

To be honest I would prefer the price to be lower and the situation in Ukraine to be sorted out, although I guess that may not happen anytime soon.

Feels like we are benefiting from other peoples suffering….

Thanks AttyG. If anyone could come up with a rough estimate of profit to shareholders per barrel based on various Brent crude prices that would be really useful, although it doesn’t necessarily sound like an easy calculation!

However AttyG, your estimate of $500 million is the equivalent 10 $50 million dividends ;)

Or £1.73 per share….

It's all about the barrels.

GC321, indeed.

However, GKP does not get all that as income.
We have 80% of Shaikan - though I remain uncertain if the KRG can yet claim the 20% back from GKP and MOL.
Also, we only receive a small amount as profit oil plus the gradual repayment of our capital development costs as well as our OPEX.

Nevertheless, plenty income and I would anticipate something like $500m free cash flow this year at these prices. Remember, GKP stated they (currently) no longer hedge on the oil price. Of course, the KRG have to pay us as well! That present difficulty with Baghdad is really holding back the sp, in my view.

Perhaps a knowledgeable poster might update their cash model and share the outcome?

China’s top officials issue orders to prioritize energy and commodities supply security, sparked by concerns over disruptions stemming from the Ukraine-Russia war, sources say

Reported by Bloomberg.

No surprise

So, trying to explain to my friend yesterday how big the turnover of GKP is

46,800 barrels per day average in 2022 (as per latest RNS) so far multiplied by say $90 a barrel X 365 days =

$1,537,380,000 (1 and a half billion dollers turnover per year)

Thats colossal!

The last dividend ($50,000,000) is a 30th of that!!

Surely something has to give, takeover, bigger dividends, leap in share price....

I'd be interested to know roughly what the costs per barrel are to come out of that turnover, but I seem to recall a relatively low figure of $4 a barrel? That may be completely wrong though! Does anyone know from previous RNSs etc?
