On the siting of SH-13 and SH-14, as a lay person in all oil and gas matters, it occurs to me there must be a conflict of interest between what our company wants and what our hosts want e.g. our hosts want us to drill more problematic wells to increase the known commercial size of our oil deposit while we probably just want the quickest, most lucrative wells imaginable that give us the biggest short term cash flows, maybe as long as those don't reduce the overall project life NPV disproportionately (a view has to be taken on the regime stability if shorter than the PSC, right?).

Because of this conflict, the siting of SH-13 and SH-14 is maybe a compromise (or maybe we do exactly what our hosts want because we have no choice in the matter if we don't want to be booted out) so maybe it is naive to think our new 'development' wells are going to be slam dunk certs because our hosts prefer us to drill risky wells, I wonder?

Kurdman, many thanks for all that. Everything you say is not inconsistent with Stockopedia's risk rating it has awarded GKP of "speculative". I expect their risk rating doesn't just cover the stuff you have talked about, namely geology/technical risk (production risk)?/exploration risk (what we think they have turns out not to be there" risk and single asset risk (this latter risk not diversifying the previously mentioned risks), but also payment default risk and general host country risk. The next ops update will certainly be very interesting. Many thanks. P.S. I don't agree with all Stockopedia's risk ratings - I can't understand why they have given a large cap company, one with net cash to boot, like Abrdn (formerly Standard Life Aberdeen) a speculative risk rating - all Abrdn seem to have done wrong is to have next year's forecast dividend slightly uncovered (0.9)and have some businesses that earn low margins that need improving.
