ERBIL — Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi will visit the United States at the end of July, a source from the Council of Ministers in Baghdad said.

Kadhimi received an official invitation from Washington two weeks ago, media reports cited an anonymous source.

The premier will meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss a range of issues, including the ongoing US-Iraq Strategic Dialogue which focuses on the future of the US forces in Iraq.

The US forces in Iraq have been under growing pressure from the Iran-backed Shia militias over the past few months as rocket and drone attacks against their diplomatic mission and military bases significantly increased.

Washington hopes to maintain its hegemony in Iraq and prevent Iran from further expanding its power through its proxy forces in the region.

As I told worn out shoe leather wearer & his sidekick on the Eastern USA seaboard, (who both write to us daily) some years ago, before I stopped reading their posts & filtered them for good. Your lives are short. Do not waste another second complaining that they dont look the way you wanted them to. Do something about it. Had they listened like all other GKP PI LTHs they could have made 360 grand or at the very least, rode the crest of a wave from 50p just over a year ago (40 percent less than the GKP consolidation Open Offer) & virtually 4 bagged up to this point or 6 bagged if they held for a couple of months more (as the MACD is about to turn positive once more) ;-)
